Toy Review – Disney PLANES

Back when Ayden was 3 months old, big brother Ethan received a whole lot of toys sponsorship from Mattel. We shared some of the toys with our readers via giveaways. We also gave out some to our friends. Ayden was too young to be playing with any of those toys back then. I kept some so he can play with them when he is older. Fast forward 3 years later, I have totally forgotten about […]

PLAY-DOH Town Firehouse Playset Review and Giveaway

Being a stay-at-home-mom and to home-school both my boys during their preschool years is the most rewarding thing I’ve ever done. I have to admit it is more challenging to home-school Ayden compared to elder brother Ethan as Ayden is more playful. Lessons planned for Ayden are usually in shorter durations. What matters most is the learning experience he gained from all these quick sessions. At 3 years old, Ayden’s lessons are majority play-based. We […]

Hand-me-downs – Ethan’s bicycle is now Ayden’s

When Princess Charlotte wore big brother Prince George’s hand-me-down sweater recently, it broke the internet with headlines such as, “It’s so CUTE! Princess Charlotte wears big brother’s hand-me-down clothes” and many more. But then again, she IS really cute lah though I personally think George is cuter … Anyway, to us commoners, it is a norm for the younger sibling to get hand-me-downs. Ayden has been wearing Ethan’s hand-me-down clothes for a while now and not […]

Ayden’s Birthday Dinner

Ayden is THREE! We celebrated his birthday with my in-laws earlier last week. We had a simple cake cutting at home followed by a pre-booked dinner at Regent Restaurant in Seremban.  It was my first time dining at Regent Restaurant here in Seremban. The place is really huge and it was full-house that evening we were there. It’s like as if the entire Seremban population dined there that evening  Thank goodness my sister-in-law pre-booked our dinner […]

Tabung Warisan Anak Selangor (TAWAS)

We finally did it. We finally registered Ayden for the Tabung Warisan Anak Selangor (TAWAS). The closing date for registration is before the child’s 3rd birthday. Ayden will turn 3 on the 31st and as usual it will be a public holiday so 30th is the last day to register him for this. We successfully registered him on the 29th when we actually had 3 WHOLE YEARS to do it! We are champion when it […]

Ayden’s Be-Early 3rd Birthday Cake

Ayden’s birthday is on the 31st and yes, it will be a holiday then as it will always be because his birthday falls on Malaysia’s Independence Day but we won’t be able to go back to my in-law’s then as I already have something else arranged for our family. So we went back to my in-law’s over the weekend for the obligatory cake cutting ceremony for Ayden’s birthday. My sisters-in-law always buy a cake for the boys […]

Concerns before sending Ayden to school

As you know, Ayden is home-schooled just like his elder brother Ethan during his preschool years. However, I intend to send Ayden to school earlier as I believe he may benefit socially in school. By school I meant those enrichment centres that is not classroom type of learning. We actually planned to send Ayden earlier this year but has been procrastinating as I’ve been busy. We finally made the effort to pay a visit to […]

Tooth Enamel Chipping Off in Toddler’s Teeth

We brought Ayden to the dentist end of May for his first tooth filling. You can watch the video of Ayden’s first tooth filling procedure here: Back then, the dentist wasn’t sure what causes Ayden’s teeth to erode. He suspected Ayden’s teeth grinding habit while sleeping to be the culprit but he wasn’t sure.  Today, we brought Ayden back to the dentist again as we discovered 4 new ‘holes’ on his teeth. Upon further checks, […]

Homeschool Activity for Toddlers: Painting

As you may know, Ayden is home-schooled. I did the same with the elder brother until he is ready to go to Primary One in a public school. I intend to do the same with Ayden. I am thankful that I have the luxury of time to guide my kids during their formative years.  It requires a lot of discipline to homeschool a child. If I am lazy, my kid won’t be doing much hence […]

Toddler DIY activities: How to Make Watermelon Juice

One of the easiest juice to make is watermelon juice. All we need is a blender to get a refreshingly sweet and hydrating thirst quencher. It is so easy to make that Ayden now makes his own watermelon juice to go together with his lunch.  We don’t add sugar nor water to our watermelon juice. We love it as it is – 100% pure watermelon juice. You may add water if you find it to […]

Craft for Children: Footprint Popsicle

It has been a while since our last arts and crafts project. Today’s project is making paper popsicle out of the boy’s footprint. Ayden can’t do much here so Ethan assisted him when it comes to tracing and cutting.  Materials needed are coloured paper, popsicle stick, glue, pencil and a pair of scissors.  Big brother Ethan helped trace Ayden’s footprint.  He also helped to cut it out.  Ayden is able to apply glue onto the […]

Unboxing TRANSFORMERS Robots-In-Disguise Hyperchange Heroes – Optimus Prime

Before the school holidays, after collecting big brother Ethan’s report card, we brought the boys to 1 Utama to check out TRANSFORMERS toys. Ethan is a huge fan of TRANSFORMERS and has a lavish collection of them which he is reluctant to share with Ayden. He is afraid Ayden will damage his TRANSFORMERS collection because Ayden will recklessly try to transform them. The boys got lucky this time as Hasbro Toy Malaysia, presented them each […]

Homeschooling the Toddler: Reading Progress at 2Y9M

If you don’t already know, I am homeschooling Ayden. I intend to homeschool him throughout his preschool years. I did the same for big brother Ethan but I may send Ayden to a year of preschool for socialising before going to Primary One. I don’t know, let’s see how it goes.  Ayden learns a lot at home. We do many things together from art to Math, to reading and skill learning such as cooking and […]

Homeschooling the Toddler: Making Fresh Orange Juice & Soya Cincau Jelly

It is the two weeks school holidays at the moment but we are not going anywhere just yet as big brother Ethan will be sitting for his piano exam tomorrow. Yeah, enough of outside food for a while. Let them have some […]

How to prepare a toddler for his first tooth filling

We took Ayden for his first dental check-up earlier this month. It was all good but shortly after, the Daddy noticed a hole on one of Ayden’s molar. We called the dentist and he said as long as we take good care of it and brush his teeth using adult’s toothpaste, he should be fine. We were also told to monitor that tooth to see if it deteriorates any further. A week ago, Ayden started […]

Homeschooling Activity : Science Experiment – How to make a snake jump

Today’s activity is more suitable for younger children than toddlers. We are going to learn about static electricity and how it can make a paper snake jump! First, we’ll need to draw a snake on a piece of paper. Next, cut the snake out. Before you know it, it will jump and bite you!  Watch this video to see how it actually happens: Check out also our other Science experiment:

Touch Me Not

When I was just a little kid, I remember being highly fascinated by the reaction of this unique plant called Mimosa pudica or Touch Me Not upon contact. I love looking for it and touching it to see the leaves closing and waited patiently for them to open up again only to touch them again to see them close. I can do this the entire day without getting bored. We go to the playground almost every […]

Homeschooling the Toddler: Science Experiment – Float or Sink?

Just like big brother Ethan during his preschool years, I am homeschooling Ayden too. Besides doing art & craft and learning music, Ayden loves Science. Today’s activity is discovering if certain objects FLOAT or SINK. I get Ayden to pick stuffs around the house and placed it in a container for the experiment. Not known to him, I added one extra stuff in there for the surprise element later. We talked about each items and […]

Craft for Toddlers: Rock Painting

Today’s craft is inspired by the colourful rocks found in big brother Ethan’s school. Ayden follows Ethan on Saturdays for big brother’s Taekwondo class. He loves the colorful rocks in the school compound. That prompted me to let him paint his own rock. Materials needed are acrylic paints, paint brush, an empty egg carton for the paints and an empty Vitagen bottle to wash the paint brush. You can always use a paint palette but I […]

Ayden’s First Dental Check-Up

Remember I did teeth scaling not too long ago? I don’t know why but I found it torturing. Darling (the Daddy) was supposed to do it too after me but because I suffered so much, I told him not to do it as I thought he has a lower pain threshold compared to me.  But he wanted to do it nevertheless so we were back at the dentist last weekend. Now, Ayden has seen big […]

Test of manhood.. urm… manliness

A boy is considered a man when some parts of his body are fully developed. However, there are people who believe that a man can only be called a man if he is brave and has done something big to earn the righteous title. In my household, my boys are automatically upgraded to men if they can complete one task – killing cockroach. I am extremely scared of cockroaches. I will sream my lungs out […]

Craft for Toddlers: Leaf Stamp Art

Ayden enjoyed doing the Torn Paper Apple Art we did several days ago and kept requesting for more arts and crafts activities. I happily obliged. This time I brought them outdoor. Activities for Toddlers in KidZania

We brought the boys to KidZania today. I was surprised that we needed to pay RM39 for Ayden to enter and play too. I asked them what can a 2 1/2 year old kid do in KidZania? To my amazement, they told me there are 19 activities suitable for toddlers in KidZania. Ethan’s entrance fee is RM80 (9 year old) while both Darling and I are RM39 each for parents. Ayden’s First Time Flying

Last Saturday was Ayden’s first time flying. We flew to Singapore. We took Firefly from Subang to Singapore and return with Malaysia Airlines to KLIA. I prefer flying from Subang airport. Playing in the rain

Rain drops keep falling on my head… Yesterday, I brought the boys to the playground in the evening. It was quite a gloomy evening but it was not raining yet so I decided to go ahead and bring them over. Halloween Footprint Ghost for Kids

Halloween is just a couple of days away. Though Ayden is still clueless about what Halloween is all about, it doesn’t stop us from making a simple ghost artwork for fun.  I guided him to trace the outline of his foot on a piece of white paper.  Happy ghosts come in twos. He said they are very cute.  I cut the ghosts out for him to be used as bookmarks but he rather play with […]

BeeBop Circus – Learn Through Play

I used to not be in favour of indoor kids’ gym simply because I prefer my kids to sweat it out in open-air playgrounds with abundance of fresh air. Final Exam is OVER!

Ethan’s final exam is OVER! That means we are officially MERDEKA for the year. Although Ethan does his revision on his own most of the time, it does take a great teamwork to get him through the exam period because if you know us well, you’ll know that we are seldom at home. And then last minute when it is closer to exam time, I’ll rush Ethan to do his revision. He’ll have to cover the […]

Dressing up mannequin, the horror!

When Ayden was younger, he got very afraid of mannequins in the malls as they usually come without eyes, nose, mouth and all. Some even come without a head! LoL! Weaning Off Breastfeeding

This week has been an emotional rollercoaster. I’m over-joyed because Ayden is fully diaperless at home and also at the playground. There has been no accident for the entire week. Shopping with the boys

These days, it is a challenge shopping with the boys. I don’t remember Ethan being this rascal when he was two but put him and little bro Ayden together, all hell breaks loose! Finally in a car seat again

I’ve been a bad mother. When Ayden was born, I made sure to put him in his car seat whenever we are travelling in the car. We used big bro Ethan’s car seat as it was still in good condition then. Feeding Ayam Kampung

We went back to my in-law’s place last Sunday and Ayden requested to feed the chickens. To him it’s like a trip to a petting zoo. I used to get very annoyed with these chickens I tell you.
