One of those bad days…
We brought Ayden to his weekly gym class at BeeBop Circus as usual last Saturday evening. The difference was we woke him up early and was out of the house since morning (as I had some errands to run) and headed directly to the gym at 5pm without him getting a proper nap. I thought he’ll be okay as he has been looking forward to attend this once a week class all week especially with the haze that deterred us from going to the playground in the evenings.
He started off happy as usual. Can you see him smiling there? They were having a Jungle Animal theme this week and the props look so fun.
Suddenly, he can’t decide whether to continue or start being grumpy. It is obvious he is tired. It shows on his face.
His head was just too heavy to continue further..
And he decided to freeze there and then.
I tried to talk him into joining the rest of the kids but he refused. He wanted to run around by himself instead of going through the given tasks and when I carried him back into the group, he started crying. After 20 minutes of non cooperation from Ayden, we decided to take him out of the class so as to not disturb the rest of the kids and headed home.
He dozed off immediately in the car. No wonder he was not his usual self. I was a bit annoyed earlier when he was being difficult but now I understand how important it is for a toddler to have enough sleep and be well-rested especially if they are going to meet people. Ayden was just too tired to even bother trying to be nice. Next time I’ll stick to our routine of staying home until after his nap.

Oh dear!!! Poor thing. So kesian…
Kan? LoL. So naughty doesn’t want to nap in the car on the way to the gym. If only he had nap a little this would not have happened I guess.
Hahaha! So funny though, falling asleep on the see-saw. :)
Hehe. He did not actually fall asleep, he just froze and refused to move >_<
Kesian.
:(
He just needs a few more months, or maybe a year or two. He’ll learn to be civil sooner or later. He’ll be fine. ;)
He’ll be even more rascal as he grows older for sure. All boys are like that -.-
Poor boy. At their age, they need to take nap, may it be an hour or so. Otherwise they can be cranky and moody.
Yes I agree. We wasted a class just because he missed his nap -.-
I know how it is like wanting to sleep. Not to say toddler, I also need enough sleep to function well. Ayden must be really, really tired.
Yes … a tired toddler is a grumpy toddler! Even my kids too , when they are tired, my wife and I just let them rest though we have plans for shopping and they also keen to go but we let them take a nap first. Usually, they will not have the mood to go around and they get bored easily especially we are looking at stuffs that they are not interested.
eh.. me too .. a tired uncle is a grumpy uncle …
Sam will grumpy too if she doesn’t get her afternoon nap although she always say she doesn’t need it >_<
so kelian, Mummy didn’t get him to have a nap.. even uncles like me also cannot tahan being out running here and there since morning till afternoon, no wonder he was grumpy.. lesson learnt :)
Yes, it is very important to make sure your toddler or baby has enough rest before going out anywhere. I am very particular on my children’s routine, especially nap time.Last time, I would be upset or angry if my babysitter failed to let my toddler take nap, and I needed to bare with their tantrum when I picked them up after work.
