The Crystal Crown Arch @ Istana Bukit Serene Johor

We just got back from a 2D/1N trip to Johor with some friends. It was the boys’ first time sitting in a bus for such long hours but time flies when we have great company as there were two other children with us on this trip.

It was fun playing tourist in Johor. One of the places we visited is the CROWN arch at Istana Bukit Serene in Johor Bahru. The Istana Bukit Serene is the official residence for the Sultan of Johor and remains as one of the most famous landmarks in Johor.

The Royal Crown of Johor replica caught my eyes as we drove past it in the bus; prompting the driver to make a U-turn for us to get down for photograph. It is fashioned after the crown worn by Sultan Abu Bakar (1833-1895) during his coronation on 29th July 1886.

It was a super hot afternoon but the picture turned out gorgeously beautiful except for Ayden who was unable to open his eyes :lol:

The crown is placed on an arch resembling four elephant tusks which was built to mark Sultan Ibrahim Ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar’s coronation on March 23, 2015.

This crown is fitted with 3,063 crystal stones. I believe it would look amazing at night when lighted but we did not get the opportunity to see that.

Love the vicinity, so spacious and clean. That would be quite a task to maintain but that’s good in a way, more jobs for people in general.

  I love it here. It is indeed spacious and very clean. The crown arch is really breathtakingly beautiful. I am so glad I get to see it with my own eyes.

That was a short trip. Just a night in Johor??

The crown was impressive. Wow! All the crystals on it. Must be amazing at night.
