Family’s Choice: Novotel Hua Hin Cha Am Beach Resort & Spa, Thailand
Hua Hin is a beach resort town in the southern Thai province of Prachuap Khiri Khan. Well known for their beaches and multiple waterparks, it is ideal for families to enjoy the sun, sea and sand in the tropics.
Previously if you wish to go to Hua Hin from Malaysia, you’ll need to fly to Bangkok and spend a couple of hours journey via train or car to Hua Hin. We almost took the train to Hua Hin when we were in Bangkok last year but decided against it as we were afraid the boys will be too exhausted. But since June 2018, AirAsia started flying direct to Hua Hin from KLIA 2 so we quickly grabbed that opportunity to fly here.
NOVOTEL HUA HIN CHA AM BEACH RESORT & SPA
Our choice of lodging is this beautiful beachfront family resort ideally located between Hua Hin and Cha-am.
Located just 15 minutes away from Hua Hin airport, it offers stunning views over the Gulf of Thailand.
We booked their irresistible Family Fun Room Offer
FROM THB 2520 ++ the Family Fun Package comes with kids’ set up & My Kids benefits, allowing the boys to enjoy unlimited food orders from My Kids menu at Ocean Terrace from 11.00 am – 09.00 pm。Plus, our whole family enjoys free breakfast. That means we paid about RM300++ per night for our room with breakfast and get complementary meals for the kids sorted out throughout the day.
The resort also offers complimentary two-way airport transfer from/to Hua Hin Airport and Novotel Hua Hin for guests arriving via Air Asia flight. The free transfer is available on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday as per Air Asia schedule from KL.

That’s a pretty good deal I must say and this is why we stayed an entire week here.
Look what the boys bumped into at the lobby area?
Ayden’s favourite Pikachu!
Immediately we know this is going to be a great holiday ♥
The boys received another pleasant surprise upon entering our room – a couple of cute welcome gifts await them. The smile on their faces say it all.
But that’s not all! The biggest surprise for them is our room itself.
Our Family Deluxe room comes with a bunk bed for the boys and is cheerfully decorated with kids’ set up.
I did not mention the gender of my kids when making our reservation hence they prepared the bunk bed with pink and blue sheets but upon discovering that we have two boys, they promptly changed the sheets to boys’ theme.
The bouncing donkey toy keeps the boys occupied each time we went back to our room to rest.
The boys always hijack our comfy king size bed when we watch television but I don’t mind at all. It feels so good to just spend precious time with them.
But come bedtime they will happily run back to their bunk bed to retire for the night giving me and Darling ample space on our bed for a goodnight sleep so we can wake up refreshed, rejuvenated and ready for yet another exciting day.
Every corner of our room has some cheerful stuffs for the kids.
There were even some cuddly stuff toys for sale in case the children wish to bring them home.
The staffs here went to great length to make kids feel welcome by paying attention to every little details such as adorable drinking cups for children as well as glasses for gargling.
They say early bird catches the worm but our family who are not early risers still get to enjoy good breakfast as their breakfast buffet is served up to 10.30am every morning.
Eventhough the resort was running at full occupancy during our time there, it wasn’t crowded when we got down for breakfast at 10am as most of the guests have had their breakfast earlier and the buffet was properly replenished.
We had a relaxing holiday as we were here for a week so we need not rush to go sight seeing. We allocated about a couple or 4 hours max a day for sight seeing with the rest of the day spent lazying around the resort as the boys simply love it here.
Lil’ Ayden’s favourite cow by the pool..
The boys super love this fantastic Giant Inflatable Castle by the pool. Its usage is complementary for the resort’s little guests.
The first thing they do every morning is to run to the bouncy castle before going for a dip in the pool; never missing it even for a single day.
Gorgeous pool
Another activity that caught the boys’ attention is the Aqua Walking Ball. This fun activity is available at the pool by Kids World with a minimal fee of 100 baht.
Rainbow of happiness.
The irresistible colorful ball pit in Kids World is every kids’ dream come true.
It’s so huge, there’s even a slide in there.
Big brother Ethan loves the pool table at Kids World. He can spend hours playing pool here with other children.
At times Lil’ bro Ayden joined the fun too but he prefers the many arcade machines in the Kids World.
Lil’ Ayden trying his luck to fish some sweets out of this machine
Other facilities at Kids World includes Internet Zone as well as table tennis.
Complimentary resort activities for little guests age 4 to 12 years old.
Besides Kids facilities, one of the main factor that made us choose to stay here at Novotel Hua Hin Cha-Am Beach Resort & Spa is their My Kids benefit; allowing the boys to enjoy unlimited food orders from My Kids menu at Ocean Terrace from 11.00 am – 09.00 pm.
The boys enjoyed unlimited food from the Kids Menu when I ordered something for myself from the Ala Carte menu.
I spent about RM30 for a meal enough to share for both me and the Daddy and the kids eat for free from their extensive Kids Menu. VERY economical I must say!
Wide variety of scrumptious kids meal from the Kids Menu.
They even have delicious Pad Thai in the Kids Menu if your children are game to try local Thai food.
CHAMPION SPORT BAR & GRILL
We dined here during our stay as there are TV screens airing LIVE World Cup 2018. They even have special FIFA World Cup burgers menu but we did not get to try that as I was keen to try their Steak Night.
THURSDAY night is Steak Night at Champion Sports Bar & Grill.
With price starting at 280 baht, we get to select the CUT of our choice with side dish and sauce of our preference as well as enjoy the bottomless salad bar for free.
FREE FLOW Salad Bar that consists of soup, colourful healthy salads, fruits, breads and four flavours of ice-cream.
Deliciously tender PORK CHOP (340 baht) for the Daddy.
Juicy RIB EYE STEAK (580 baht) for me.
DEEP FRIED CHICKEN HIP with crispy batter (280 baht) for the boys.
It’s nice to dine here as the boys can keep themselves occupied while I slowly savor every bite of my mouth-watering medium rare rib eye steak and the daddy relaxing over a game of football on tv.
OCEAN TERRACE
Besides Champion Sports Bar & Grill, we also dined at Ocean Terrace for dinner.
We can opt to sit at the breezy outdoor or indoor with a play area for children.
We chose to sit indoor as they boys wanted to be in the play area.
It was his BEST DAY EVER as claimed by Lil’ Ayden
Huge play area for children to hang around while parents enjoy their meals.
The evening we dined here, they were having Indian themed buffet. They even have a clay oven to cook naan on the side of the inside walls.
The boys enjoyed the freshly made naan and chicken shawarma while I go crazy over the many varieties of curries served in the buffet.
GRAVITY SKY BAR
Not to be missed is the 360-degree rooftop Gravity Sky Bar.
Located on the 24th floor of the resort, it offers breathtaking views of the Gulf of Thailand.
We come up to this sky bed every evening to just chill and enjoy the view.
I super love this place ♥
I’m already missing the sand, sea and sun as I am writing this post. Such gorgeous blue skies with even more beautiful blue sea and white sandy beach. Our kind of Vitamin Sea!
Every corner of the resort is picture perfect.
To be in your children’s memories tomorrow, you have to be in their lives today.
We spent precious time with the boys during our week-long holiday in Hua Hin.
We managed to visit several places of attraction such as:
SANTORINI PARK CHA AM
Santorini Park Cha Am is situated just 19km away from the resort. We took a cab from 7-11 which is just opposite the resort and spent half a day here. A beautiful place for photography so if you are an avid Instagrammer, this is the place for you.
PLEARNWAN
Plearnwan is just 16km away from Novotel Hua Hin Cha-Am. It is one of the must visit when you are in Hua Hin. This retro village takes us back to yesteryears and we enjoyed looking at stuffs we used to play with when we were younger. The boys bought several old school toys that exist before electrical gadgets took over as a child’s play.
WATER JUNGLE PARK
This water jungle park is just 20 minutes away from the resort and we had a splashing good time here.
There are many other places of interest in Hua Hin, Thailand so maybe it’s time you check your calendar and plan a visit here soon.
In the meantime, here’s a video to summarize our unforgettable stay here at Novotel Hua Hin Cha-Am Thailand.
Leave nothing but footprints, take nothing but pictures… we will be back!

Ayden must be jumping with joy to bump into pikachu! Haha.
Lovely resort. Nothing but family oriented.
Good that now we could fly straight from KL to Hua Hin. Otherwise for my case, I need to fly from Kuching to KL and wait for few hours to fly to Bangkok and another hour to fly to Hua Hin. Really tiring. Hope to go this year end if everything goes well.
Yes, it’s so much easier to be able to fly direct from KL to Hua Hin. I hope your plan will work out and you will end up in Hua Hin this year end. The kids must be thrilled.
Wow… you guys had a whale o fa time for sure. Ha
We sure did. I believe if I dived into the sea we really would have caught a whale. LoLoL!
The hotel is really awesome as it fits all 4 of you on a really delightful room. I’m sure my 2 kids will be happy as well if we get to stay in such toon. Ha
Agree. It’s spacious enough to fit all four and have enough space for the boys to bounce and run about. But what I like best is the price!
Oh by the way, a reader just returned from the same resort and she too was singing praises of the resort’s awesome kids package.
See the smiles on all the faces, enough already. So happy to see such a happy family! Love that shot of Ayden among the colourful balls.
That Ayden… spoilt to pieces here till he refused to fly back home. Haha.
William and I, when we make travel plans, we pick places that are kids friendly with lots of activities for the boys. Sight seeing will come in second place. I had a list of things I wanna do here in Hua Hin but ended up achieving only 3 because we spent so much time in the resort.
“To be in your children’s memories tomorrow, you have to be in their lives today” should need to be imprinted into all parents’ brain.
What a happy family holiday and I think Ayden is the happiest little boy in the whole wide world during this trip.
We love taking short holidays from time to time to get away from the busy and hectic city lifestyle. They need not be in exotic countries far away.
For my children, even local holidays are good enough for them as long as they can get some sun, sea and sand. Thailand is our favourite destination as it is nearby and very affordable.
Wow! Wow! I love all your fabulous photos and videos very much. They were well taken to make them happy and so colourful to lure me to visit Hua Hin…. There are 2 places in Thailand that’s in my bucket list – Hua Hin & Chiangmai.
Wow Wow Wow, this is indeed a wonderful hotel that make both adults and children happy!
