Our first visit to LEGOLAND® Malaysia

Ethan has always been keen to pay a visit to LEGOLAND® Malaysia since it first opened in 2012 but we never got around to do that until recently when we decided to give it a try. I invited Choi Yen and family to join us and after some discussion, she agreed. I proceeded to arrange lodging, transportation and the tickets.

Though we’d love to put up the night in LEGOLAND® Hotel, we decided to stay in Pulai Springs Resort instead as the price for LEGOLAND® Hotel is a little on the high side especially during the super peak period of the year end holidays. I chose Pulai Springs Resort as they are having this attractive Legoland® Malaysia Holiday Package. I’ve blogged about our stay there. Do check out my post here -> Pulai Springs Resort

Pulai Springs Resort arranged return transport for us. The journey to LEGOLAND® from Pulai Springs Resort is approximately 25 minutes drive.

We got ourselves the combo pass. That means we are allowed access to both the LEGOLAND Park and Water Park. I did not know what to expect and allocated just a day to spend in this theme park. I thought a day will be more than enough. What I did not know was it has more than 70 hands-on rides, slides, shows and attractions.
Legoland

After all the procrastination, I can’t believe that we finally stepped foot in LEGOLAND® Malaysia! What took us so long? We should have visited this place earlier >_<

Legoland Christmas

It is already Christmassy in LEGOLAND® with this huge Christmas tree up.

There is also Santa and his reindeers.

We began our adventure at LEGO City where the boys took their Driver License at the Driving School. Ethan went to the Driving School while Ayden went to the Junior version of the Driving School.

Ayden at the Junior Driving School. It is his first time handling a motorised car.

Boy, I think you’ve just flunked your driving test :P

These little kids ended up driving like as if they are riding on a bumper car! LoL!

The older children however are more organised.

I super love the traffic circuit here. It is so real. These kids drive better than me!

Upon completion of the Driving Test, you can get your kid’s Driver’s License printed out at a fee of RM35. However, this special Driver’s License is only valid in LEGO City and not on our Malaysian roads :P

Our next stop is the Rescue Academy where families race each other to put out the fire and stop the robbers in this LEGOLAND®favourite.

Ethan at Rescue Academy.

I’ve heard so much about Rescue Academy. Every single person who has visited LEGOLAND® talked about this interesting activity. They mentioned about how enthralling this activity for the kids yet how exhausting it is for the adults after completing this task. So let’s see how true it is.

Off they go! Look at Ethan, so enthusiastic to be number ONE to arrive at the scene.

The Daddies worked out some sweats pumping water for the little heroes to put out fire. LoL!

These macho men put their biceps to good use again pumping their vehicle to the finishing line. Look at Ethan’s hair. He is extremely eager to finish first and they did! LoL! It was so hilarious watching them in action. They were exhausted alright but it was so much fun. Ethan wanted to go again but the Daddy said let’s be the last to arrive this time around! LoLoL!

The Boating School is also suitable for the entire family.

We eagerly queued for our turn but when it was time for Ayden to put on the life jacket, he refused. He did not want to put the life vest on so it was a no-go for him. I had to take him out. Only Ethan and the Daddy are allowed to proceed.

Ayden sulking while waiting for big bro and Daddy. Sulk all you want little fella, who ask you to be so stubborn? >_<

From where we were waiting, I can see that Ethan is enjoying himself steering the boat.

Yup, happy, happy boy there.

So happy that he allows the shark to gobble him :P

Castle Stage. We did not get to Meet and Greet anything here but proceeded into the Dragon’s Apprentice for the rollercoaster ride.

Our rollercoaster ride at Dragon’s Apprentice. The above pic was taken by Darling. Can you spot me and Ethan? NO right? Sigh… This is the type of pictures I get when Darling handles the camera >_<

I on the other hand, took the picture below of Darling and Ethan at The Dragon.

See?! Good enough to be used in ads! Not only did I get one good picture of the Daddy and Ethan on a rollercoaster, I got more than enough to turn into gif image.

rollercoaster

See Darling? THIS is how you capture a rollercoaster ride -.-

Anyway, here’s a cute camel :P

And here’s another gif image of Ethan and Samantha on the Beetle Bounce.

Legoland

Aiyo, I lost count how many times these two went on this ride. They kept going again and again and again and again…

By now, Ayden is tired.

It rained a little hence that hankerchief on his head ^_^

I took Ayden to the Baby Care for him to rest while Ethan and Samantha continued exploring. They explored the Miniland and took lots and lots of pictures Asia’s best known landmarks in detailed miniature.

While Ayden was napping, we went to catch the live show of LEGO® Ninjago & The Realm Of Shadows

It’s an exhilarating action-packed world of Ninjago through a combination of state-of-the-art 4D special effects, mesmerising puppetry and mind-blowing video mapping. This new live performance is presented in the fully air conditioned LEGO® City Stage.

When Ayden woke up from his nap, I brought him around the Miniland to look around too.

For once he doesn’t feel small as everything around him is mini sized.

It is worth to note that the Miniland is best enjoyed in the evenings when the sun is not directly above our heads as it is one huge open place without shades.

For our lunch, we dined at Market Restaurant. There are many eateries here but we picked Market Restaurant simply because this market concept restaurant has the perfect selection of Asian and Western favourites. Most importantly they have chicken rice in their menu. The boys are rice tanks and crazy fans of chicken rice so this is just the right place for them.

Aww… look at them. So sweet <3

The interior of Market Restaurant.

We bought the kids meal (RM18) that consists of a plate of chicken rice, a bowl of soup and a tub of ice-cream.

The Daddy also bought an extra plate of Mac and Cheese for the boys to share. It comes with ice-cream too.

Ayden and the tubs of ice-cream :D

Frankenstein made an appearance at the Market Restaurant and Ethan quickly took the opportunity to have a photograph with him.

We proceeded to check out Star Wars after our meal.

Star Wars fans will be delighted to check-out this new indoor experience that’s fully  air-conditioned and showcases over 2,000 well-known LEGO Star Wars™ models and iconic scenes from all six episodes and the Star Wars™: The Clone Wars™ animated series.

4D

Ayden also experienced his first ever 4D adventure at LEGO® Studio and enjoyed every bit of it.

I took Ayden for the mini train ride at DUPLO® Playtown while Ethan and Sam played in the indoor playground.

Our entire family also rode on the LEGOLAND® Express to check out the entire theme park. Ayden enjoyed the train ride a lot.

The boys went up the air-conditioned Observation Tower twice as they enjoyed being high up looking down the entire Legoland theme park.

I went up once and discovered how beautiful my shoes are with LEGOLAND® Malaysia as the background :P

Ethan and Samantha feeding squirrels *so romantic*

There are many other rides and pictures but I can’t simply post them all here otherwise it will be a never ending write-up. What I have to say though is, WE DID NOT MANAGE TO CHECK OUT THE WATER PARK! Sobs!

We brought a change of clothes and went prepared to get wet but the kids enjoyed themselves and spent too much time at the dry park that we did not get to experience the wet park. I never thought we will spend so much time here but I was wrong.

If you have the time, I’d recommend you to get the 2 days pass so you can return the day after to explore what you did not manage to cover on the first day. We wasted our Wet Park tickets as we ran out of time. Looks like we have to try making a trip here again someday to explore the Wet Park.

How many Lego sets do your boys have? I spent a fortune on it! My girl had lots and lots…such a chore, picking up the pieces and putting them away once she was through…and I will forever remember the nightmare we had when she put a little piece into her nose. *faints*

Ethan has many. Mostly are gifts from dear friends and family. I only allow Ayden to play with them when I am watching him.

Legoland looks like lots of fun for children! So Ayden knew he cannot get onto the boat but still refused to put on the vest?

    • //

Yes he is aware that he cant ride unless he puts the life jacket on yet he still refused :(
