Family Fun at Swissôtel Resort Phuket Kamala Beach

Kamala Beach in Phuket Thailand is a popular destination for families.

A beautiful long beach with clear waters during high season, it features various beach restaurants and shopping options.

The beautiful, idyllic and family-friendly island retreat Swissotel Resort Phuket Kamala Beach is a stone’s throw off Kamala Beach, offering 180 elegant one to three-bedroom exclusive suites, each with a separate bedroom, living room and private balcony.

We stayed at the resort’s Family Fun Suite where the children’s bedrooms are set up cheerfully with colourful bedding, cushions and fun toys. There are two choices of Family Fun Suites to choose from – One Bedroom Family Suite OR Two Bedroom Family Suite.

Ours was the Two Bedroom Family Suite.

Ideal for families of four to six guests, the two bedroom family fun suite features two bedroom with private terrace and a spacious living room, kitchenette and dining area.

Large pool view private terrace with outdoor furniture

Located on the second floor of the resort, each elegantly styled, 62 sqm two-bedroom suite features a small kitchenette, dining area and a large living room with a convertible sofa bunk bed – bathroom with shower and a large private terrace with outdoor furniture for guests to enjoy alfresco living,

Boys will be boys. They simply love the bunk bed.

Our Family Fun Suite conveniently comes with a kid’s table and chairs with dining and cutlery set. They also provide color pencils with coloring papers to keep the boys occupied.

Swissotel Resort Phuket Kamala Beach plays its part in preserving Mother Nature by giving soaps a second life.

Here at the resort, leftover soaps are collected and recycled for the disadvantaged.

The resort has also put away drinking straws in an effort to reduce plastic waste.

They do have paper straws if you really need one. Kudos to the resort for their effort. Every little step goes a long way in preserving our Mother Earth.

We’ll never get bored staying at this resort as there are plenty activities available for resort guests.

One of the most popular activity at the resort is Bicycle Tour.

We rent bicycles from Kids’ World to cycle along the beautiful Kamala beach. We get to interact with the many locals along the stretch of Kamala beach and try some local Thai dessert from the mobile vendors. It has got to be one of our most memorable activity during our stay here.

Big brother Ethan with Khun Yahya, our local guide from the resort.

Khun Yahya is in charge with most of the activities at the resort. He’s very friendly and helpful and ever so ready to recommend various activities of interest to the resort guests. Some of the activities are within the resort while some will bring us venturing out of the resort such as this bicycle tour.

Look at Lil’ Ayden enjoying riding along Kamala beach.

Cycling along Kamala Beach has got to be one of the best experience we had during our stay here. Just look at the long stretch of gorgeous blue sea.

Watch this video to see more of our bicycle tour along Kamala Beach:

We are in for a treat! The resort offers FREE POPSICLES! All you need to do is pick up the phone POPSICLE HOTLINE and request for your free frozen treat.

Ayden called for popsicles after our bicycle tour.

And just like magic, FREE POPSICLES for all!

Who can resists such refreshing treat (especially when it’s FREE) on a gorgeous sunny day!

Besides the much enjoyable bicycle tour, another activity we enjoyed very much is the POOL FOAM PARTY.

This complementary pool foam party is held twice weekly at the pool for the pleasure of resort guests.

It’s SNOWING in Phuket!

Suitable for the young and old, do check with the resort on its activity schedule as you will not want to miss this awesome pool foam party!

Here’s our video on the most interesting pool foam party in Kamala, Phuket:

Children at the resort can also experience walking on water.

Our boys took it a step further. They not only walk on water but RUN and RUN they did!

If you have been following our travel blog write-ups, you’ll know we always choose to stay at places with clubs for kids when we are on a holiday. Here at Swissotel Resort Phuket Kamala Beach, there is Kids World where children can hang out safely under the care of experienced child-minders.

A ball pit with slide, a cinema room, video games and toys with lots of children activities such as art and craft are available to keep children happily occupied.

There is even a quiet area with comfy cots and professional babysitting services – leaving you free to explore Kamala’s adult-oriented highlights.

While the boys were having fun in Kids World, the Daddy and I took this golden opportunity to get some pampering at Serenity Day Spa, located on Level 2 of this resort.

We opted for an hour of relaxing Hot Coconut Oil Massage.

Hot oil massage helps reduce tension and swelling in the muscles by toning and conditioning them. It improves the condition of the hair and skin, prevents premature aging and also therapeutic to improve sleep, controlling arthritis, muscle atrophy for itchy skin and so on.

Using hot oil during massage is an excellent way to promote relaxation and sooth muscle fatigue while opening the pores and softening the skin. My therapist did a wonderful job to relax my tired muscles. We thoroughly enjoyed our luxurious massage with warm aromatic coconut oil.

Throughout our stay, we dined at Joe Kool’s when the kids are engrossed with pool activities.

Convenient poolside dining, Joe Kool’s also features a cool pool bar serving healthy fruit juices to eye catching cocktails, fine wines and frothy beers.

If we manage to peel the boys away from the pool, we’ll dine at The Cafe which is just a couple of steps away from Joe Kool’s.

The menu offers choices of delicious western to local cuisine.

Healthy salads options are available too.

The boys as usual will dine from the Kids Menu which also offers western and local cuisine.

Adorably presented Thai fried rice from the Kids Menu.

BaiThong Thai & Seafood Restaurant

If you are staying in Kamala, you must drop by this relatively new yet popular Thai & Seafood restaurant located opposite Cafe Del Mar Phuket.

You’ll see BaiThong Thai & Seafood Restaurant on your right before you arrive at Swissotel Resort.

It serves a varied menu of authentic Thai cuisine, seafood specialties and locally inspired Thai desserts with a side of inventive cocktails in a quaint bistro setting.

The restaurant is decorated in true minimalist style giving it a cozy and laid back atmosphere.

The smiling rice is contagious. It carved a smile on all our faces immediately upon seeing it.

We had Thai Grilled Pork Skewers, Vegetable Spring Rolls, Coconut Soup with Chicken, Tom Yam Soup, Minced Meat with Basil, Vegetable with Oyster Sauce and Thai Mango Sticky Rice and they were all deliciously satisfying. No wonder we see diners making a beeline to this restaurant.

Open time: Everyday / 11.30 – 23.15 (Last order 22.30)
Car parking: Valet
Credit card: Accepted
Price: Start 120 for deep fried fish cake

You know you are in good hands when the staffs go all out to make children happy and I am not referring to my kids only. This friendly staff went around distributing adorable pancakes to every children at The Cafe during breakfast.

We had such a great time here. The staffs are super friendly and treated us like family. They go all out to make our stay a comfortable one and our needs are met.  It was difficult to bid goodbye but all good things must come to an end. We are sure to return as there are still more to explore.

We managed to make a video of the fantastic time we had here at Swissotel Resort Phuket Kamala Beach.

Let’s watch it together:
