Homeschool Activity for Toddlers: Painting
As you may know, Ayden is home-schooled. I did the same with the elder brother until he is ready to go to Primary One in a public school. I intend to do the same with Ayden. I am thankful that I have the luxury of time to guide my kids during their formative years.
It requires a lot of discipline to homeschool a child. If I am lazy, my kid won’t be doing much hence I must keep myself prepared with lots of activities in hand to keep Ayden occupied. Every night when the kids are asleep, I’ll prepare the activities for the next day. The activities ranges from reading, counting, playing, gardening, baking, arts and crafts and more.
Ayden is 2 years 10 months now. What is important is to develop and fine tune his motor skills. A good way to do this is through painting. At this moment, I am working on his grip and control of the paint brush.
His task at hand is to paint within the picture. I think he did a great job with the brush today. He knows where he should be painting and did his best not to paint outside the intended area.
Watch this 30-seconds video of him painting. I don’t know why but I super love to watch him paint

You are a very hardworking momma. Ayden looks so happy to be homeschooled by you and he knows so many things, how to bake, make juice, paint and read. He colours so well too, keeping within the outer boundary of the tiger and he does not colour the insides of the tiger’s eyes.
You are the best, Merryn. I am super lazy at home. Do not do much with my boy. He just loves doodle and I having hard time to concentrate on writing.
Bravo to you. You do well.
Lovely. My missus keeps the “works of art” done by my girl when she was small, great memories.
