Mooncake Preview: Hotel Equatorial Melaka
The Mid-Autumn festival is fast approaching. Being in the Klang Valley, I see mooncakes everywhere. Walk into any shopping malls and you’ll see mooncakes being on sale in full force. Drop by the lobby of any hotels and you’ll get to purchase your favourite mooncakes too but the scenario is totally different out of the Klang Valley.
I was in Melaka recently and went to check out several hotels to buy mooncakes as we needed to visit someone but most of them do not carry mooncakes until we dropped by Hotel Equatorial Melaka.

The first thing we see when we stepped into their lobby is this beautiful display for their mooncakes as well as their sweet staff taking orders at the booth.
Being only one of the few hotels that sells mooncakes (I seriously don’t know any other hotels that do sell it in Malacca), the mooncakes here are selling like hot cakes with their Musang King Durian snowskin being a great HIT!
The mooncake selection available here are Pure Lotus Single Yolk, White Lotus Single Yolk, Red Bean, Pandan Lotus, Mixed Nuts and Precious Black with a special mention of the Musang King Durian Snowskin mooncake.
The mooncakes are available daily until 4 October 2017.
They are priced at RM88 nett per box for any 4 flavours (except Musang King Durian Mooncake). The mooncakes can also be purchased individually at RM22 nett each without box (except Musang King Durian Mooncake).
We are very impressed with Hotel Equatorial Melaka’s Musang King Durian mooncake. They come packed in polystyrene case to ensure the mooncake remains chilled upon purchase and throughout our journey home. They even include a knife for a hassle-free mooncake indulgence.
The Musang King Durian Snowskin mooncake is sold at RM40 per box of 2 pieces (55g each) and is available for a limited time only while stock lasts.
I’m glad we managed to get our hands on this Musang King mooncakes with real durian pulp that day. If you are a durian lover, this is highly recommended.
Other than the Musang King Durian mooncake, we also tried several traditional flavours such as Pure Lotus Single Yolk and Pandan Lotus.
True to their tagline “The Taste of Tradition”, these mooncakes will surely bring joy to the elderly as well as the younger generations.
To purchase, email [email protected] or check out their website for more info.Â

Like Ayden’s photo indicating it is very taste! Thumbs up! :)
This boy really loves mooncakes and we are also lucky to be able to sample so many mooncakes.
I don’t like snowskin. Sigh!!!!! Can only look lah saya, Ayden, see you give thumbs up so happy…so kesian saya. :D :D :D
Haha. Have you tried durian snowskin mooncake? It’s like eating frozen durian. Very yummy. My favourite of all mooncakes :)
Mooncake season sure is in full swing! I’m not fond of the baked but I do like the snow skin.
I love both but not those super sweet ones. I prefer low sugar varieties.
The only mooncake I’ll eat is Durian mooncake :P
Oh yes. I believe you’ll LOVE this!
Gosh! The durian mooncakes are selling like hot cakes! I have not really check the mooncakes over here. Did not see any durian mooncakes so far.
Exactly. When I am in the Klang Valley, there are so many varieties of mooncakes and they are all very easily available but once out of here, quite difficult to find mooncakes.
Thank goodness this hotel sells mooncakes coz I need it quite urgently that day.
Oh boy! I love the Musang King Durian Snowskin mooncake, RM40 for 2 pieces is kinda reasonable.
If I can forget about the calories, I will sure sink my teeth into it.
