Resipi Khas Bulan Puasa: Roti John Sardin
It is the school holidays so I got both the boys to cook together.
Since our Muslim friends are observing the holy month of Ramadan, the dish we’ll be sharing today is one that is popular during the fasting month – Roti John Sardin.
Roti John is an omelette sandwich. Meat is usually added but we prefer to use sardine since my mom has been making it this way for us since young. This hassle free dish is easy and quick to prepare making it one of the top choices for Moms to cook for their kids’ breaking of fast.
Roti John Sardine
3 sausage bun
1 small can of sardine
1 red chili
1) Mash sardines
2) Add chopped onion and chili
3) Add eggs and mix well
4) Spread sardine mixture onto the bun
5) Heat wok
6) Add oil or butter
7) Fry the sardine side of the bun
8) Flip over and brown the bun
9) Remove from wok
10) Add your preferred sauce and serve

Oh I didn’t know that the egg is mixed into the sardine and put on raw onto the bread and then only fried together with the bun. No wonder I can’t see the egg in the finished product.

I love to eat Roti John but yet to try sardine flavour.
