Little Chefs Bake: Chocolate Chips Walnut Cookies Recipe

I am a cookie monster. It’s my weakness. I think everybody knows that. The main reason I bought the oven is to bake cookies especially festive cookies. But before we go on baking festive cookies, let’s start off with my all-time favourite – Chocolate Chips Cookies ala Subway’s giant cookie; crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside.

Chocolate Chips Walnut Cookies

Ingredients:
227g butter
180g white sugar
190g brown sugar
375g all-purpose flour
2 eggs
2 tsp vanilla estract
1 tsp baking soda
3/4 tsp salt
350g semisweet chocolate chips
125g walnut (optional)

Method:

Preheat oven to 180 degrees C
Cream butter and sugar until smooth
Beat eggs one at a time
Add vanilla extract
Dissolve baking soda in hot water
Add into batter
Add salt
Add flour, chocolate chips and walnut
Mix well
Scoop out onto ungreased pan
Bake at 180 degrees C for 15 to 20 minutes (depending on the thickness of the cookie dough)

Due to my oven being very small (25L capacity) I can only bake 4 cookies at a time as the dough will spread

Once the cookies start to brown,  take them out of the oven and let them stay on the pan for at least 5 minutes before transferring to wire rack to cool.

The boys super love these chocolate chip cookies they baked themselves. They’ve baked twice todate. Once with walnut and another time without it. The big brother prefers without walnut but Little Chef Ayden loves both equally the same.

As for me, I love it with walnuts.

Sighhhhhh!!! If only there are nice gluten-free ones. My girl used to love choc chip cookies so much.

That’s my favourite style of cookie too – crunchy outside and chewy within.

I am not much of a cookie monster but if to choose, I would like chocolate chips cookie anytime. My girl is like me. She loves chocolate chips cookies and can finish a whole pack by herself if no one stops her. Lol.

Looked good oh! Can start planning and baking for the festive season. Bet the boys enjoy munching on the freshly baked cookies. Just worry whether your cookies can last a day or not. Lol.

The cookie dough will spread when baking? That’s amazing! I never bake this type of cookies before although I always want to :P

Still warm from the oven – that’s the way I like them :-)

Now Ethan and Ayden can bake cookies anytime so no need to buy from subway anymore. No need to buy mother’s day gifts too. Just bake some big crunchy and chewy cookies for mommy will do!

Looks super good to me, Merryn. Your boys can bake better than me.
