Steamboat Factory | HotPot, Steamers and Barbeque

It has been raining the past few days, hasn’t it?

We were just leaving Eko Cheras Mall recently when it looked like it was going to pour. As we were hungry and did not want to get trap with growling stomach in the traffic if it rains, we decided to just drive to the opposite of the road to this new hotpot place in town. It is called Steamboat Factory.

No 19 & 21, Jalan Desa Aman 2,Block C,
Taman Desa Aman,
Batu 5 1/2 Cheras
Kuala Lumpur,
Malaysia 56100

Fresh prawns in the aquarium greeted us as we stepped into the premise. I knew right away I have to order them no matter what.

The staff recommended to have the prawns steamed to best appreciate their freshness.

Priced at RM26.90, the steam set consists of 3 scallops, 4 live prawns and many clams.

Simplest is the best. This is all mine if you must know as Ethan has mild allergy towards shellfish. Since we did not bring his antihistamine medication along, I did not allow him to eat these. Well I did let the Daddy eat one of the prawns but that’s about it as I was very hungry, remember?

The boys ordered pork belly slices from the barbeque counter.

BBQ Pork Belly is priced at RM9.90 for 3 sticks.

I’m not sure what they use to marinate the pork belly but it was deliciously done.

Perfectly barbequed pork belly with slightly charred edges to give it the smoky finish. Thank goodness the boys ordered only a plate of this as the portion is quite huge for them and it gets a little salty after having too much of it. Maybe it was just us as we are used to dining with less salt at home. I saw it was quite popular with the rest of the patrons there that evening.

Anyway, we are at a hotpot restaurant, for sure we have to try their bone broth.

We had their signature Pork Bone soup that comes with a gigantic pork bone in it.

We also had the Wolfberry Clam Ginger Soup. THIS I totally recommend!

The pork bone soup is delicious but the Wolfberry Clam Ginger soup is the bomb with robust flavor!

Every sip is bursting with flavors of the ocean as they are very generous with the clams. Just look at the amount of clams I fished out from the soup. I mean look at the shells (because the meat is in my tummy already *blush*)

I may be biased here as the soup is slightly spicy hence I LOVE IT, LOVE IT! But obviously the boys prefer the pork bone broth. It is safe to say that we’ll stick to these two broth if we dine here again.

Our favourite among their homemade balls is the prawn with cheese balls.

The melted cheese just compliment the prawn ball perfectly.

We also ordered their homemade paste that comes in a tube so we can cut our own paste into the broth.

We also had some mushrooms and vegetables to complete our dinner.

We enjoyed our dinner here at Steamboat Factory. Such a shame it is quite a distance away from where we stay hence we won’t be able to dine here as frequently as we would like to but I’ll keep it in mind whenever we are around the vicinity.

I’ve just checked their FB Page and found that they are currently running a Buy 3 Free 1 Promo for their ALL YOU CAN EAT STEAMBOAT BUFFET TUESDAYS ONLY with no time limit at RM39.90+ per person. Call or Whatsapp 013 278 2822 for more information.

I love to eat steamboat especially buffet styled. I think I have eaten twice this month. I will check out this place since I go to Leisure Mall every Friday night to collect leftovers for the homeless.

My wife is also allergic to shell fish since she was young. When they grow older, they would develop more allergies and I realised it has something to do with one’s weak liver. Maybe it would be wise to seek advice from TCM so that it could help to strengthen their immunity. My wife saw TCM doctor so late in her life and had developed more allergies with scary rashes & asthmatic attacks.
