The Emperor, Dorsett Grand Subang’s Chinese New Year Menu 2017
Let’s welcome the year of the Rooster with exquisite dishes fit for an emperor at The Emperor, Dorsett Grand Subang from 1 January to 12 February 2017.
Ranging from RM1,188nett – RM1,888nett per table of 8-10 persons, their Chinese Master Chef will entice diners with an extensive 8 – 9 course set menu and pair it with a bottle of wine courtesy of Dorsett Grand Subang.
We were privileged to be invited to dine at The Emperor, Dorsett Grand Subang last week for a taste of their EVERLASTING PROSPERITY set menu, priced at RM1,888nett per table of 8 -10 persons.

We dined in privacy in one of The Emperor’s private dining rooms.
Prosperity Yee Sang with Soft Shell Crab and Korean Pear
Tender and crispy soft shell crab complements the yee sang perfectly. One of my favourite yee sang this year, I just can’t get enough of it.
Besides soft shell crab yee sang, The Emperor also serves several other varieties such as jelly fish, salmon and baby abalone. Price ranges from RM68-RM258.
Double-boiled Cordycep Flowers with Dried Scallops and Black ChickenÂ
This sweet and nourishing soup makes a great start to warm our stomach.
Golden Crispy Roasted Spring Chicken is served in halves.
Tender meat beneath those crispy skin, it is easily Ethan’s favourite and he polished it clean to the bones effortlessly.Â
Steamed Silver Cod Fish with Taiwanese Bean Curd and King Soya Sauce
A good fish need not have over-powering sauce and the ones we have here is just perfect. The premium soya sauce is just right to bring out the best of the steamed silver cod fish and silky tofu.
Just look at the texture of the fish in the picture, moist yet flaky with the flavors nicely locked in throughout the fish.Â
Steamed Fresh Water Prawns with Golden Garlic and Egg White
Steamed with crispy golden garlic, this is best to present the freshness of the prawns. The egg white gives a silky finish to the sauce.Â
Pan-Fried Scallops Stuffed with Prawn Paste
Perfectly cooked soft and sweet pan-seared scallops made better with the addition of prawn paste giving extra texture to it.Â
Steamed Glutinous Rice with Diced Chicken, Yam and Duck in Lotus Leaf
One of the most classic dish, this moist and sticky glutinous rice steamed in lotus leaf giving it such a beautiful fragrant is popular with the diners. Serving was huge yet we managed to eat it all in no time.Â
We ended our sumptuous meal with The Emperor’s signature Chilled Mango Puree with Mix Fruit and Sago dessert as well as Mochi Green Tea Paste and the most important feature of any Chinese New Year feast – the Nian Gao; deep-fried in a crispy batter.Â
Nian gao or the sticky rice cake made from glutinous rice flour and brown sugar is often associated with Chinese New Year celebrations. AÂ bite of the sticky rice cake is believed to bring you a prosperous lunar year.Â
I love the ones I had here at The Emperor; layered with sweet potato and coated with batter and deep fried to a golden crunchy crust making it crispy on the outside yet gooey inside.Â
Green tea and mochi meet together in this pretty and delicious dessert.  The combination of aromatic green tea and wonderfully chewy mochi is just perfect.Â
Besides set menus, buffet feasts are also available this Chinese New Year at Terazza Brasserie.Â

Love the staircase, lovely carpet.
Ah, you managed to capture Ethan’s expression when he was enjoying the food. Must be very tasty for him to have that expression on his face. I like the Chilled Mango Puree with Mix Fruit and Sago dessert. The price of this yee sang is a better one when compared to the other hotel restaurants you reviewed previously.
The water prawns look very yummy!
The dishes are very delicious and your well zoomed close up shots really made me drool. I had never seen large prawns so close until the shiny eggs! LOLOL
The CNY prices are attractive too.
