Chin Swee Temple Genting
We were invited by Nuffnang and Resort World Genting to stay the night at Chin Swee Temple for some meditation, Tai Chi, energy session, chakras discussion, mandala colouring and more.
Life has been so hectic and stressful for me that I immediately said YES to the invitation. Luckily for me, Ethan is eager to go learn some Tai Chi and meditation too!
It was Friday and Darling was working so Ethan and I packed our bags and after an hour in the bus, we are here in the beautiful Chin Swee Temple, Genting. Darling will drive up later in the evening to join us after work.
If you go up to Genting as often as we do (at least once every month) you will without fail pass by this temple. Chin Swee Caves Temple is situated in the most scenic site of Genting Highlands. We always wanted to drop by but never did so today, we finally stepped foot here much to our delight.
Ethan is all smiles upon seeing how beautiful Chin Swee Temple is.
This is where we stayed for the night. Mystically situated in the clouds, it’s like a picture being plucked out of a fairy tale!
Our room is nice and simple. The paintwork is still new and clean.
After check-in, we went to visit the temple immediately.
It was Ethan’s first time taking Holy Water. It was even Ethan’s very first time being in a temple if I am not wrong.
He saw others praying and wanted to pray too so I let him.
He went to the tortoise pond after that and requested for a coin. I think he remembered throwing coins into the tortoise pond when we were in Penang 3 years ago!! He even made a wish before throwing the coin! :O I did not ask him what he wished for though; let it be his little secret.
We joined other bloggers for lunch at the Vegetarian Restaurant soon after. Read more about it here.
After lunch, we gathered at the meeting room for our first activity. Trainer Li Yen shared with us some knowledge about energy and we had fun creating and playing with ‘energy balls’.
Ethan, Master Bao and the rest of the bloggers measuring energy using some self-made gadget.
We also learned about Chakras and how it can affect/improve our daily life. In the evening, we proceeded to the much awaited activity – Tai Chi!
Master David Bao (2006 World Tai Chi champion) demonstrated his Tai Chi skills before training us for the next 2 hours. The beautiful temple backdrop made it just perfect for Tai Chi!
Here is Ethan and the rest of the bloggers greeting Master Bao.
MY favourite picture of Ethan and his ‘energy ball’. Can you FEEL his energy? Haha..
After Tai Chi we proceeded to dinner before going back to the Meeting Room for Mandala colouring.
Darling and Ethan colouring their Mandala. Once done, we all call it a night.
The next day, we went up to the Sky Terrace again for meditation.
It was my first time meditating. Believe it or not, my iPhone was not with me during the entire meditation! Fuh! SUCCESS KID meme! Hahaha..
Group picture at Sky Terrace after breakfast before proceeding back to the Meeting Room for Mandala discussion.
Cut long story short, Darling’s Mandala shows that he is a simple person by nature but turned ‘haywire’ in real life where else I’m a cheerful person by nature but is restricted to my comfort zone. I feel that I’m the reason for Darling turning ‘kelam kabut’ as he is shouldering most of the responsibility at home. I am determined to make a change, to share some of the responsibilities especially learning to drive so I can drive Ethan around but once back here in KL, all that determination is gone with the wind! >_<
We explored the temple one last time before leaving with great memories.
A temple so beautiful, we are sure to drop by again each time before heading up for our monthly trip up to Genting Theme Park
