London, the Summer Musical

With THREE successful musicals under their belt, Sunway Lagoon proudly presents their fourth musical production, London, The Summer Musical which pays tribute to London, the city hosting the Summer Olympics 2012. Ethan, Darling and I have been to ALL three previous musicals; the latest Aladdin, being their BEST in my humble opinion. Aladdin the Musical (November 2011) Magical Musicals (June 2011) Peter Pan the Musical (November 2010) London, the Summer Musical tells the the story of three female stewardesses who […]

The library in Bao Bei

Ethan discovered recently that he can actually borrow books from Bao Bei and bring them home. He got super excited and picked a book about heavy machines. He brings it everywhere he goes. I love libraries. I was a librarian back in school. I used to borrow the entire series of Noddy! Dunno what happen to me now, I just don’t read books anymore -.- Not bad, BaoBei has its own library! Ethan brings the […]

Expecting Mums : Are you absorbing enough nutrients?

Double lines on the pregnancy test kit means positive. Congratulations, you are pregnant. I remembered seeing those double lines for the very first time when I conceived Ethan. Darling was still asleep. I got super excited yet I did not want to wake him. I left the test kit on the bathroom sink and went to work. At work an hour later, I got a call from Darling asking if it was true. We both […]

Madagascar3: Europe’s Most Wanted

I Like To Move It Move It I Like To Move It Move It I Like To Move It Move It Ya Like To (MOVE IT!) Who can forget that song right? It has been playing in my head ever since I know Madagascar3: Europe’s Most Wanted is coming to the cinema near us very SOON! I remember fondly the main characters of Madagascar: Alakay “Alex” the lion and the main protagonist of the films; he is voiced […]

Doraemon at e@Curve this school holidays

Wondering what to do this school holidays? Well, if Mid Valley has Mickey Mouse , e@Curve has DORAEMON! My sis sang this when she saw me posted this pic on FB, “AN AN AN tottemo daisuki DORAEMON… “ Gosh, did I tell you how annoying Doraemon’s voice is? When I was in Mid Valley looking at those Mickey Mouse, I told Darling that I can’t make myself watch the cartoon on TV because I find Mickey’s voice to […]

The new Samsung GALAXY S3

Inspired by nature, designed for humans. Samsung GALAXY S III’s minimal and organic design is reflected in its smooth and non-linear lines of the device. What attracts me more is the soothing graphic and ring tones, bringing us back to nature. Samsung GALAXY S III was launched in Malaysia yesterday. We were privileged to get the opportunity to fiddle, play and do anything almost anything with the new Samsung Galaxy SIII. Girls being girls, the […]

Mickey Mouse @ Mid Valley this school holidays

With the school holidays around the corner and many parents starting to panic for not having anything lined-up to occupy their bored kids, fret not. You can brave the traffic jam, lack of parking space and massive crowd in Mid Valley just to see the classic all time favourite, Mickey Mouse. We were there today and though it was not fully done up yet, those Mickey Mouse are all over the place already. From monochrome […]

Stretch mark : Causes and managing it

Being pregnant is one of life’s miracles. We ladies get to experience this wonderful journey while the guys can just watch in envy :P However, what is not to envy is the appearance of stretch marks in some women during pregnancy. While some mothers take it as a blessing; treating stretch marks as a token to cherish her pregnancy, I would do all I can to prevent it. What causes stretch marks? Imagine your skin […]

Blogging for FUN? Think again..

Most of us started blogging innocently to pen our daily happenings, milestones, personal rantings and more while there are those who started blogging professionally and then there are those who blogs politically. While I love the freedom of speech here in my very own blog, the recently passed Evidence (Amendment) (No 2) Act 2012, whereby internet users are held liable for any content posted through their registered networks or data processing device, is SCARY! It’s […]

Parenting Conflict

When my son was born he was not delivered with a user manual attached to him. My husband and I went through endless trials and errors raising him and we are still learning. It can be quite an adventure – rewarding one moment, challenging the next split second. Raising a child is no different from marriage; it is all about give and take. Playing the role of a co-parent is no easy task. It requires […]

The bitter bitter gourd soup

The weather has been hot like crazy these days so I thought of boiling my favourite bitter gourd soup over the weekend to cool us down. I’ve never boiled this before I tell you though I’ve had it outside countless times. How hard can it be? It’s just like boiling any other soup but instead of using old cucumber or anything else, we use bitter gourd. No? –  pork ribs –  bitter gourd 苦瓜 (rub […]

Awarded BaoBei’s exemplary student (模 范 生)

Earlier this week, Ethan came home smiling from ear to ear. He only smiles that wide upon completing one stage and proceeding to the next. He has been in BaoBei for 9 months now and he is in stage E at the moment. I thought he has completed stage E and is already in F but he said not yet, a little bit more to go. I wonder then, why that big grin? Then he […]

Sprinkling FUN time

I spoke to my Std 1, 2 and 3 students and asked them what do they do in school during art lessons. They answered me, “Not much”. They did mostly colouring. Not very creative aren’t they, the art lessons? The other day in the Studio, I cut some shapes out of hard board and placed them on a drawing block. I asked the kids to guess what we will be doing that day but none […]

Bath BOMBS!

We were in Daiso as usual when Ethan came across this. Happy Bath Ball. How not to notice them I ask you? They hang it up right at the entrance! >_< He got super excited and kept telling me the frog is very cute! He said it can grow very big and will be a GREAT bath companion! “RM5 ONLY! CAN AH?” he pestered… Arrived home quickly filled his bath tub with water and threw […]

DIY Note pad

You know how kids love to scribble right? They’ll scribble on just about anything so the other day, I got the kids to make their own note pads for scribbling. All they need are papers (preferably colored) and 2 pieces hard construction paper for the cover. Decorate the note pad cover using cute paper punch. Paste as you wish. Tie them up together and the note pad is ready for scribbling! :D

The Mix : New Menu

We love The Mix, located at Holiday Inn Kuala Lumpur Glenmarie. We celebrated our Wedding Anniversary (last year) and Valentine’s Day there this year. Last month, we were invited to sample Chef Francis Lau’s fusion interpretation of a new menu. First out was the Set of Six Fusion Tapas featuring six types of tapas influenced from various regions from America to Mexico to China and India. Paneer Makhani (cheese paneer), Quaker Oats Prawn (crispy prawns coated in oats), MexicanChimichangas (fried crispy […]

Best playground hunt : Desa ParkCity

Play is very important to a child. A child can learn so much more through play than in the confinement of a classroom. I love bringing Ethan to the playground for that is the time I can really take my mind off ‘work’ and exercise a little. I not only bring him to the playground at home but also to other playgrounds in the Klang Valley. Of the many playgrounds we have been to, I […]

Petronas gas processing plant : City of Lights

During our recent Terengganu trip, we were taken to the City of Lights – the Petronas gas processing plant in Kerteh. I’ve never seen something this beautiful in my life. Too bad the bus are not allowed to stop for us to take pictures. We are not even allowed to take pictures of the plant actually. It was after midnight after our Kelip-Kelip trip and some of us are already asleep in the bus. I […]

How long should you breastfeed?

So this picture from Time.com sparks debate all over the world. She doesn’t look like a loving and caring mother breastfeeding her child they say.. What about the above? Loving enough? (Photo: Time.com) I’ve seen with my own eyes a mother breastfeeding her son who is almost as tall as her in IKEA. The mother is as petite as me for your information. People all over were staring at her like she have just committed […]

Language is no barrier

To me, play is very important for Ethan. I try to bring him to the playground every day if we are at home. Sometimes the weather doesn’t permit us to do so but on good days we spend our evenings in the playground, soaking in some sunshine, filling our lungs with fresh air and treating our eyes to the lush greenery around us. Ethan used to play with our neighbour’s kids but their Mom made a new […]

Sometimes they drive me crazy

Today is such a day. Woke up in the morning and everything is fine. Did my morning routine (boil water, ironing etc) while the Daddy lay in bed a little while more. After having his milk he needed to poo. Told the Daddy to help him while I went downstairs to continue the rest of my morning routine. And then I heard it, the shouting battle between those two. I just don’t understand why. Ethan […]

Learning through play

I give English and Math tuition at home for Primary school going kids. Ethan participates in all these classes ever since like ‘forever’.. The other day I was teaching the Primary 4 kids Multiplication. After class, Ethan requested to learn multiplication too. I told him it is good enough that he knows his Addition and Subtraction well and that Multiplication can wait. After all, he is not even FIVE yet! But he insisted to learn as […]

Awana Kijal, Golf, Beach and Spa Resort

The last we stepped foot in Terengganu was last year when we flew to Kuala Terengganu to go to Pulau Redang. We did not do much there then as we spent most of our time in Redang. A couple of weeks ago, we went to Terengganu again. This time, we stayed in the 5 star Awana Kijal, Golf, Beach and Spa Resort. Approximately 5 hour drive from KL, it wasn’t that bad as we stopped […]

Bento workshop for kids

Today, Darling and I accompanied Ethan to his school’s educational trip – bento making. When Ethan initially brought home the permission slip, he told us that ONE adult must accompany him. I volunteered to go but Darling said it would be nice to make it a family outing as well so we paid for 2 adults and 1 kid :) Ethan was given a bento set, a pair of gloves, a hair net and a […]

Stressfree Childhood – Is it possible?

I wrote this article during my writing stint for an online magazine last year. I wrote a total of 7 articles on parenting and contributed some craft ideas and then I had to stop due to time constraint. I shared all my published articles in another blog of mine but I’m shutting down that blog soon. Before I shut down that blog, I’ll share those articles here instead starting with the last post I wrote […]

What would you do if you were in my position?

The house behind us has been vacant from the moment we took possession of our house keys and shifted in. It has NEVER been occupied. I think we got this house in 2004, I dunno. It has got to be BEFORE 2005 as that is the year we got married, I think! I’m never good in dates anyway… Anyway, the past week, someone started to do some renovation works on that house. Finally somebody will […]

Shogun’s Teppan Gelato

Taking gelato experience to a whole new level, Shogun introduces the Teppan Gelato, a premium Japanese dessert for the first time in Malaysia. Teppan Gelato is an ice cream like dessert made on Teppan or metal pan. Whooops! NO, that is not Teppan Gelato. That is the 100kg Maguro (Tuna Fish) specially flown in to kick off Shogun Fest last Thursday. Shogun is having its Shogun fest in conjunction with the Sakura spring season from […]
