Papaya Red Dates Milk Booster Soup
Six years ago I failed in my breastfeeding journey with Ethan. I blame it on my lack of knowledge and determination. Fast forward to present, I read (and try) everything possible to boost my milk supply so I can fully breastfeed Ayden. I learned the importance of direct latching as demand = supply. I also browsed the internet for lactating soups and consumes them regularly to keep myself well-nourished.
One of the most popular milk boosting soup is the Green Papaya Fish Soup but do you know how costly threadfish is? I boil soup almost everyday so I thought of using chicken (since I dont cook pork at home). I’m happy to say that chicken works just fine for me and Ayden is still fully breastfeeding at almost 7 months now.
Here’s my version of green papaya red dates chicken soup.
We are encouraged to use green papaya with white seeds but I find those with already black seeds still ok as long as the papaya still produces white sap when sliced.
Blanch chicken in boiling water to remove scum.
Bring to boil a pot of water and red dates. I always used the bigger premium red dates as they are sweeter.
Add green papaya.
Add chicken and simmer.
Season with a bit of salt to your liking.
My delicious and nutritious milk boosting green papaya with red dates soup is now ready.
Heard of people cooking raw papaya, never tried. Tenderiser…makes meat soft. Wink! Wink! LOL!!!!
My mom cooks unripe papaya with black pepper, anchovies and dunno what summore. Very yummy though, I like!
I love this soup…
It is very nutritious. I didnt try during my confinement as they said it is “cooling”. They said should take raw papaya soup before delivery.
Only milk booster? Or enlargement also which I eagerly need? LOL
