Durian Oh Durian

It’s my favourite indulgence. If you know me well, you’ll know that I watch what I eat. I don’t eat sugary stuffs. I don’t drink sodas. I am not even bothered by the current bubble tea craze. 

BUT when it comes to durians, I have no restrictions whatsoever. I am crazy over durians. I can eat it for breakfast, lunch AND dinner *burp*

Last month I was so craving for durians that I pestered Darling to buy some for me. 

We went to SS2 to get some. Ayden is as crazy over durians so he happily followed us to grab some. Ethan on the other hand is not a fan of durians. He hates the smell and will not go anywhere near it so he locked himself in the car while we were buying durians.

We had to vacuum pack the durians home because Ethan can’t stand the smell of it especially when he is trapped in the car. 

I did not like the durians we bought. It has huge seeds with very thin flesh. I was disappointed :(

And just when I was still sulking over the durians we bought, my sister-in-law called Darling to inform that they have lots of durians from their father’s orchard. Unfortunately Ethan was having his UPSR trial exam that time so we were unable to go back to Seremban to get them.

We managed to make a day trip back last weekend. 

We got to eat lots and lots of durians fresh from the farm. It has thick, creamy flesh with small seeds. I was in durian heaven! My father has varieties of durians. I especially love those bittersweet ones. 

Ayden happily plucked some rambutans too.

My father-n-law packed some durians together with mangosteen, rambutan etc for us to bring back home. 

I had the best time squatting at my car porch prying the hull apart while the boys are at school. I ate to my heart’s content and kept the rest in containers. Ayden loves cold durians. He said eating cold durians is similar to eating durian ice cream. 

It has been a week and I am at my last container today. Sobs …
