Garden to Table
If you’ve been following my blog you’ll know that I love gardening. I used to love planting flowers to beautify our home but these days, it is all about sustainable garden. I don’t have a land for my gardening hence I depend fully on pots to feed us.
It is our (Ayden and I) routine every evening to care for my plants. We’ll work on making compost soil, feeding the plants with coffee egg tea concoction and pruning. We’ll also harvest whatever that is available and ready to be harvested.
Ayden helping to check if those brinjals are ready to be harvested. Honestly, I myself can’t tell when a brinjal is ready to harvest. We just agak-agak only.
Today’s harvest, a little bit of this and that. That’s the thing about having a small garden, we’ll just have to make do with these little harvests of the day.
Click below to read how I grow them in pots:
And this is our dinner, from the garden to our table. The carrot, chicken and prawns are from a grocer though. The vegetables are all steamed as Ethan is recovering from a sore throat hence we will be eating clear for the next few days.
How nice! I wish I could plant my own – HUGE compound, nothing much growing. We could have saved a bundle on vegetables, fresh and organic ones some more. :(
I love your concept of from garden to table :)
It is good and economical to grow, harvest, cook and eat at home.
Love your brinjal and corn, they are so beautiful~
The food all so nicely arranged. If me, I will just mix them all up. XD
I keep telling myself I wanna try planting tomatoes and okras using your tips, but… still telling myself…
You are really keng! Can grow so many types of vegetables in pots. I like your dinner, just the kind of food for me but I am too lazy to grow my own vegetables.
Amazing…you have an edible garden. I only have those plants that require minimize care since I don’t have much time to care for it. It is a great feeling when you get to harvest your own vegetables from home.
