Feeding Ayam Kampung
We went back to my in-law’s place last Sunday and Ayden requested to feed the chickens. To him it’s like a trip to a petting zoo. I used to get very annoyed with these chickens I tell you. It’s not so much the chickens that I hate but their droppings. They are every where and the worst is when you stepped on it before entering the car.
But now with kids, I tend to mellow a bit and tolerate things better lah. So what if got poop? Wash lor…
I did not let them enter the chicken coop though. A rooster attacked me when I was Ethan’s age. I do not want that to happen to my kids especially little Ayden who is still very short. Imagine if the rooster flies up and peck his eyes! Yeah.. so not letting them enter the chicken coop.
Ethan wanted to feed the chickens too but can you guess what are they feeding them?
Take a closer look on what Ayden is holding…
My sister-in-law actually gave the boys this to feed the chickens:
Penang Tau Sar Piah!
LoL! The chickens here are so spoilt, they are eating my favourite tau sar piah (bean paste biscuit)! I see oso sakit hati! I super love Penang’s tau sar piah, Ipoh’s heong peng, Sitiawan’s kom piang and Seremban’s siew pau. If you are in any of these places, do tapau some home for me please… but don’t lah feed the chickens with those aiyo!
Anyway, my sis-in-law showed me the box and pointed to the date. The tau sar piah expired dy. How can anyone let tau sar piah untouched until they expire? *cries*
so fun lah~ i always enjoy balik kampung, having this kampung feel! missing sarawak now~
Aww. When are you planning to balik kampung again?
Oh I am a naughty one.. when I was a kid.. my mom used to take me with her when she visit our relatives in the province and they got many chickens too.. what I often do is to chase these chickens and hit them with stone… hahaha.. gosh my mom will scold me afterwards
Oh dear, you are naughty! LoL! But I don’t mind as I have a resentment towards roosters as one of them attacked me when I was little :P
One of the best meal for the chickens I guess, haha!
Haha. I guess so :D
Maybe they keep it for you to balik kampung to eat, but wait until it expired baru you go back… hahaha…
Oh crap… Hahahahaha! You buat me feel guilty only lah. I know lah I jarang balik :P
Nice! I got attacked by a goose last week when I went to a durian farm. Haha.
I didn’t know chickens would eat tau sar pneah but I know they’ll eat durians (strangely).
Hah! What did you do to that goose until it attacked you? LoL. I know chickens eat durians. I am always envious of them for getting some durians when I dont :(
So much fun for the kids.
Simple fun :)
Yeah, its better to keep them away from inside the coop but ok to let them feed the chickens la. In Sg, the kids here don’t even have these chances, they only eat them. Aiyo …what a waste of the tau sar pang. They bought already and don’t eat ah ?
Ok ok ..next time I buy for you in Ipoh. I get you the fresh fresh ones. You can meet me in PJ.
Can I meet the mail man instead? You buy and mail to me. Hahahahahaha :P
The real question is how can you feed expired food to the chickens? Hahahaha
Come on.. chickens eat WORMS for goodness sake :P
Oh btw, I have a friend who have chickens as pets. So when I go to his house, roosters, chickens and hens fly all over in the living room!!! Imagine, all the shits everywhere!! But he has a maid lah, so she do all the cleaning up. LOL
Oh dear! I’ll never want to visit that friend of yours.. >_<
Where’s the kampung? Far from town? Here, in the town residential areas, they do not allow rearing of chickens…for the good of all.
It’s in a remote place but right next to a police station. Haha.
I love to eat tau sar peah too and will keep them for a long time cos sayang to eat. Feeding the chickensmust be a fun activity for your sons.
