Toilet Paper Roll Apple Tree
Ayden is turning two next month. That means he is ready for art and craft activities with me. Today, we made an apple tree using toilet paper roll and coloured crepe paper.
First, I get Ayden to paint the toilet paper roll with brown tempera paste.
He only needs to paint half of the toilet paper roll as we’ll be using only half. I did not cut it first because it is easier for him to hold the entire roll rather than the half roll. I’ll cut it only after he is done painting.
While he is painting, I tear and crumpled the green crepe paper. Ayden helped me to crumple the paper too.
Ayden’s favourite part today is applying glue onto the paper part. He loves it.
Look at him. He was so happy smearing glue all over the paper.
Place the crumpled green crepe paper onto the white paper to form the leaves of the apple tree.
Ooops, I think he needs more crepe paper. I quickly tear and crumpled more for him.
Once he is done with the leaves, I give him the apples.
There, the ‘apple’ :D
I helped Ayden paste the tree trunk.
And told him to press it down but look what he did? He used his car to do it instead -.-
Ayden’s toilet paper roll apple tree. He was very happy to make his first craft today. We shall definitely be crafting more from now on :)
I thought he played with his car, crashing the tree. Lol. Glad he enjoyed the art & craft time. I myself have not really done crafting with Jamie. He usually ended up playing those stuff than listening to me. Haha.
Wei, just tell him don’t drive the car onto the tree when he gets his driving license! >.<
i remember those days when Ethan is the one making such crafts and now, it’s Ayden… is Ethan still into it? Or he got new interests?
Wow M, I wish I can do art and craft with my kids but I’m very bad with both. How a crab want to teach the lil one to walk straight?! It’s frustrated me.
So cute, that smile. So lovable!!!
Ayden really enjoy this craft activity!
