Behind the scene experience
Last Saturday was an extremely hectic day for Ethan and I. It marks the first day both Ethan and I started working with a TV station on a project that will be aired somewhere in April. My role is as the Creative Contributor where I contribute ideas on the crafts that will be made and also to guide the kids on how to make those crafts before recording begins. Ethan’s role is to make the […]

Bento making for beginners
Ethan will be starting Kindy this 1st of March. I did not pay for his snacks in school as being a former Kindy teacher I know how ‘nice and healthy’ canteen food can be. I talked to Ethan and he is okay with the idea of bringing his own food. But that is before he actually goes to school and sees his friends eating different. I am afraid by then he might not be happy […]

Our Chap Goh Mei Sunday
By the time we woke up on Chap Goh Mei was already noon as we had an extremely hectic day before. Will blog about that later. In the evening, we went to this Kindergarten that Ethan will be attending next month as I’ve already promised a friend (at the very last minute) to help her out in a Red Packet Craft competition. We only got together the night before to work out on what could […]

Tickling My Tastebuds
I’m not an early bird as the thought of “The early bird catches the worm” scares the heck out of me. Mind you, I don’t want to be eating worms for breakfast! I want to have Dim Sums! But Dim Sum breakfast is a very rare treat for me as we don’t have the time during weekday rush and on weekends the earliest we usually leave the house is at noon. I don’t like to […]

Gold Coast Morib Resort
This year, my parents did not celebrate Chinese New Year in Malacca due to the passing of the family’s matriarch last year. My eldest sister (and family) took my parents to Gold Coast Morib Resort instead. We joined them on the 2nd day of Chinese New Year. Though we just had lunch before pushing off to Morib, we arrived just in time as my family were about to have lunch so we ate together much […]

Playing with snakes on the set of MHI, TV3
I got a call from Malaysia Hari Ini (MHI TV3) inviting me to demo lantern making just few days before CNY. Coincidentally I had just done a demo with TV2’s Hello On Two so I still have all the materials ready. If my stint on HOT, TV2 is in English, this time on MHI it is in BM and I’m so glad! I think my spoken BM is so much better than my rojak English! […]

How many of you here is a fan of ice-blended beverages? I’m a HUGE fan of ice-blended but not just any blender can blend ice, mind you. Childhood memories: Blowing Bubble Balloon
When I was younger, there was no iPad or whatever Pad to entertain me. One of my favourite activities was cycling and I always cycled to the nearest sundry shop to get this: Blowing Balloon in a tub that smells like glue. Anybody remembers this? During the Chinese New Year holidays, we introduced this to Ethan. I squeezed it out for him and let him blow through the straw. Blow he did and he enjoyed […]

Eve of CNY eve
Our Chinese New Year celebration this year is a little different as my parents are in KL instead of us going back to Malacca. We gathered at my eldest sister’s house on the eve of CNY eve for a feast before going back to my in-laws the next day. Father and son ready to say goodbye to Santa and welcome the God of Prosperity instead :D My mother cooked up a storm for us. Some […]

KLCC’s Chinese New Year decoration
This year we were so busy that we hardly have time to mall hop to look at their CNY decoration. We did however, stepped foot in KLCC to catch a glimpse of their gigantic lantern. Beautiful and larger than life lantern. We were on our way to attend an official CNY event hence my two Darlings’ Chinese outfit :) Anyway, here’s wishing all our lovely reader a very Happy Chinese New Year. May the year […]

PETRONAS ‘Five Pillars of Happiness’ Pledge
Chinese New Year is a time for the Chinese communities all over the world to gather and reunite with families and loved ones to celebrate and welcome a new beginning with wishes and hopes for peace, happiness and good fortune for everyone. In multiracial Malaysia, CNY is also a good time for all Malaysians to participate and join in the celebration in a true spirit of unity and togetherness. It is in this same spirit […]

Going Japanese this Valentine’s Day at Fu-Rin Japanese Restaurant
From the very first year Darling and I dated, we’ve always celebrated Valentine’s Day having western food. I don’t know why, it was never Oriental, local or anything but it has always been WESTERN! This year however, we celebrated Valentine’s with a twist. Well, besides celebrating it a week earlier and also celebrating it together with friends, we went Japanese this time around at Fu-Rin Japanese Restaurant, Holiday Inn Kuala Lumpur Glenmarie. Our appetizer was […]
