Strawberry Park Goh Tong Highland Garden, Genting
We were up in Genting last weekend. This time we stayed a night. Will talk about our stay later as today I just wanted to share our stop at this Strawberry Park in Goh Tong Highland Garden. We passed this place each time we come down from Genting but every time it is at night but last weekend, we went down in the evening so we took that golden opportunity to stop here. Goh Tong […]

Chinese New Year dinner at Phoenix Restaurant, Holiday Inn Kuala Lumpur Glenmarie
Chinese New Year is a fortnight away. Before we go off for our CNY break, let us share with you a delicious home feel dinner we had at Phoenix Restaurant, Holiday Inn Kuala Lumpur Glenmarie recently. Though a regular patron of Holiday Inn Kuala Lumpur Glenmarie, this is our very first time dining at Phoenix. Phoenix Restaurant Holiday Inn Glenmarie Kuala Lumpur 1, Jalan Usahawan U1/8, Seksyen U1 Shah Alam […]

Sunway Pyramid’s Chinese New Year decor
Our second stop for our CNY mall decor hunt is Sunway Pyramid. They have a huge junk ship right smack in the Centre Court. A junk is an ancient Chinese sailing vessel/ship design still in use today. A junk is usually fully loaded with food and goods hence the Winds of Fortunes in Sunway Pyramid this CNY. I love the junk. It’s nicely built. I still remember their magnificently tall dragon last year and they […]

Beware when purchasing packet drinks
We were in Sunway Pyramid today and shopped for food before we left. Once a year (CNY) it is a must to purchase a carton (or more) of soya bean packet drinks. Ethan requested for Winter Melon tea so we bought that too. Once home, I happily carried the carton of soya bean to keep in the refrigerator when I noticed something.. Notice anything? Look closer… One of the packet drinks has been poked and […]

How to remove wallpaper
The first time we replaced the wallpaper in our house, we let the wallpaper people do the removing of the old wall coverings. It cost us at least RM10/roll just for removing. Imagine how much we had to pay as the entire house uses rolls and rolls of wallpaper. We were not aware that removing old wallpaper can be so easy! This time around, when we were planning to replace our wallpaper yet again, we […]

1 Utama’s Chinese New Year decor
This year, we’ve been preoccupied with AngPow lantern making sessions that we don’t have much time to mall hop to check out their beautiful decor. We finally stepped foot in 1 Utama today to check out their ‘Golden Street’. The entire Centre Court has been converted into a China Town (actually the streets of Hong Kong) Can you believe that this is actually in a mall? Look at those peanut tins.. Complete with traffic light […]

Chinese New Year dinner at Zuan Yuan Chinese Restaurant, One World Hotel
The propitious snake will rattle its way to One World Hotel this year, bringing good fortune and success. Feasting and family reunions are essential elements of Chinese New Year. A noble tradition observed by the Chinese community, ‘Sau Kong Chau’ is a must to celebrate a year of success and abundance just before Chinese New Year. Sau Kong Chau’ is also known as the Appreciation Pre Chinese New Year celebration menus. 2012 had been great for […]

Klebang Original Coconut Shake
I’ve been wanting to try the famous Klebang Original Coconut Shake since like forever but never got the chance even though it’s not very far away from my parents’ place. It’s like each time I am back in Malacca and pestered any of my relatives to bring me there, they’ll go, “but the queue is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO long!” Nobody wants to bring me there. I would have forced Darling to bring me there IF only I […]

INTERACTIVE WALL
The very first time Ethan was introduced to an interactive wall was in April last year during his first trip to Petrosains KLCC. The screen shows pebbles dropping down and when you stand in front of it, the pebbles will drop on your shadow! Ethan was very fascinated with that. I was highly impressed too! Several days ago I heard from an ex-colleague who is working in KLCC about the new interactive wall located in […]

Preparing for pregnancy
When you see married couples without a baby, your immediate thoughts would be, “Why?” and you can’t keep yourself from asking them, “When?” When people see married couples with only ONE child, they’ll not hesitate to ask, “When’s number TWO coming along?” I got asked that question ALL THE TIME now that Ethan is already 5. While I can always avoid that topic when he was younger, it is not so easy to brush people […]

Hippopotamus @ Singapore Zoo
After visiting our local zoo and seeing how sad all the caged monkeys and the rest of the animals are, we don’t really quite like zoos anymore until we came across Singapore Zoo. Their Orang Utans there are free-ranged and dangled freely on trees. All other animals have their own spacious enclosures and no one was in cages. Ethan especially loves the hippopotamus. He has never imagined a hippo to be so graceful until he […]

The one behind the wheels
The first thing I did after my SPM was to get my driver’s license and as soon as I got it, I moved out to KL for college. That was the end of my driving story. I get panicky each time I am behind the wheels and my legs will go wobbly. Imagine there was once a short stint where I was working in the Sales team WITHOUT being able to drive! My superior had […]

Genting Sky Venture
Genting Sky Venture, the one and only wind tunnel in Asia has been in Genting for quite some time, located at Level T2A, First World Plaza, but I’ve never got the guts to try it until recently. I went first while Darling looked after Ethan. We changed into our suit (I love my pink jumpsuit) and were briefed on the sign language and also instructed on the basic of flying. Lockers are provided for you […]

McDonald’s Prosperity Burger
Once a year for a limited duration of time, I like to sink my teeth into McDonald’s Prosperity Burger. Who can resist the juicy beef/chicken meat patty with sloppy black pepper sauce especially when it is only available for a limited time only? This year, on the 19th & 20th January, with every purchase of a Prosperity Meal, RM1 will be donated to the ‘Prosperity Gives Back’ campaign; raising funds for local charity homes. We […]

Chinese Zodiac Snake Angbao decor
Chinese New Year is around the corner (seriously?) and this year we’ll be ushering the slithering SNAKE! Let’s make a cute little snake today shall we? DIY Ang Pow SNAKE Cut open an angpow. Remove excess edges to form a clean square. Fold both ends into the middle and fold again. Fold the flip down, open and fold the other one up. This is just to create the crease. You’ll get these lines as shown […]

Parental Guidance
Thankx to Nuffnang we got the opportunity to catch this comedy Parental Guidance at e@Curve recently. When his daughter goes away for work, a grandfather (Billy Crystal) finds himself having to take care of his three grandkids using 21st century methods — though he soon resorts to an old-school style of parenting. When I watched this movie, I kind of like relate to Alice but I’m sure I’m not that bad-lah. At least I let […]

It’s a BREEZE!
Darling’s work clothes and Ethan’s play clothes are always the toughest to clean. It has stubborn stains on the collar, handcuffs and basically everywhere! Darling is on the go at all times and Ethan is forever an active and curious kid, exploring every little details. I can’t stop them from their daily routine but I need to ensure that their clothes are washed clean. I always apply and rub liquid detergent onto the stains before […]
