The MUST drink in Singapore
Singapore has a tropical climate so the island is warm and humid throughout the year. The average temperature is around 31oC so it’s important to drink enough water to keep you hydrated. What happens if you run out of drinking water? Fret not as you can always do this: Just a short update since most of us are still in holiday mood ^_^

That shall be kept a secret ^_^ This year, we celebrated my birthday grandly several days earlier in the heart of Subang Jaya in Grand Dorsett Subang. Just a couple of months ago we were here celebrating our wedding anniversary but that time we did not stay. We love the thick […]

Christmas decoration: KLCC
We dropped by KLCC for lunch today. It was jam packed! Thank goodness we managed to find a parking spot. I took this golden opportunity to photograph their cute Christmas decor. I must say the decor in KLCC this year is pretty impressive! They used to be so dull in previous years but this year, everything is so cheerful and lively. Cute elves are everywhere! Love this Santa’s workshop. Ethan loves it too :) But […]

Christmas lights in Sunway
Remember my post here saying that I’m unimpressed with the Christmas street lighting of Orchard Road, Singapore? Well, that is because we have a much more colorful street lighting in Sunway! Every year without fail we’ll take a leisurely stroll along the cheerful and brightly lit Sunway street. This year is no exception. Love this Christmas tree. It’s quite hard to photograph this tree as people kept surrounding it for pictures too. Can you see […]

Virgin Rollercoaster Ride @ Universal Studio Singapore
We went to Universal Studio Singapore again (read about our FIRST trip there two years ago here) and this time we enjoyed more as Ethan can ride most of the thrill rides compared to when he was 3 years old. Reunited with the cute Puss In Boots <3 This trip also marks the very first time Ethan rode on a rollercoaster! I was hesitant initially but he insisted that he is big enough for all […]

Feeding giraffes at Singapore Zoo
During our recent Singapore trip, we went to the Singapore Zoo on Day 2 for the much anticipated elephant ride. Never did it occurred to me that Ethan will end up feeding giraffes as well! We saw people feeding giraffes for a fee of $5. Ethan was curious and wanted to feed them too! >_< It scares the heck out of me seeing that super tall creature with their heads hovering above Ethan. But that […]

Christmas at Orchard Road, Singapore
Ever since I was young it has always been my dream to go to Singapore in December to soak in the Christmas celebration. People have always told me how beautiful Orchard Road is in December with the lights fully lit up beautifully. This year, my dream came true as Darling booked the hotel right smack in Orchard Road for our Singapore trip this time around. We stayed in Mandarin Orchard, that links to Mandarin Gallery […]

Merry Mulberry Christmas
Christmas comes early for us this year. Come to think of it, we always celebrate Christmas early! :D Our early celebration was held at Mulberry Restaurant and Bar in Ming Annexe, Jalan Ampang, Lebuh Ampang. I remembered last year when I dropped by this place, I have this to say, “tucked in the ground floor of Ming Annexe Building, it is truly a hidden gem for I really like what I saw. My first impression of the […]

Crane Dance, Resort World Sentosa Singapore
On our first night in Singapore, we were thankful that the weather is beautiful with no rain to make it possible for us to catch the much anticipated Crane Dance in Resort World Sentosa. We took the Angry Birds Cable Car to Sentosa. The show is scheduled at 9pm but tourists lingered around the area as early as 8pm! We went to take our seat at 8.45pm after having our dinner. At 9pm sharp, a burst of fireworks lit […]

Elephant Ride, Singapore Zoo
The last time we were in Singapore 2 years ago, we went to the Night Safari. We got to see animals in the dark but we never get to experience the beauty of Singapore Zoo as it was too dark. This time around, we visited the Zoo during the day and I must say that I’m pretty impressed with Singapore Zoo. None of the animals (especially monkeys and orang utans) are in a cage! They all have their own nice […]

DIY Packed Lunch
Ethan and I were in Jusco the other day when a promoter approaches us with this Ayam Brand Ready-To-Eat Sardines. She was promoting the two new flavours – Spring Water and Teriyaki Sauce. The promoter told me (while looking at Ethan), “Mam, this Ready-To-Eat sardines contain no added MSG and no preservatives! No need to cook, just open and serve!” Hah! The thing about grocery shopping with a kid is that the little monster would […]

Ethan’s public drum presentation in Sunway Giza
Remember Ethan’s first drum lesson two months ago? I blogged about him and his handsome teacher here. This was his first drum practice at home after his lesson: A couple of days ago, Sunway Giza was looking for kids to perform on their Christmas decorated stage next week and Ethan’s drum teacher asked him if he would like to give it a try. Ethan agreed immediately as it has always been his dream of performing […]

The EXTRA Inch
I hate shopping (especially for shoes) and that is mainly because I can hardly find anything my size (size 3) -_- I was looking high and low for a walking shoes that is comfortable enough for me to wear at least 8 hours a day due to the long hours of events I have to attend frequently. My boots just won’t do it anymore as it has high heels and my feet feels sore by […]

School of Tomorrow – Empowering Lifelong Learners
After attending the Beaconhouse School of Tomorrow conference, a quote by Alma Haris lingered in my mind even until now, “If we want 21st century learning, we can’t have 20th century systems”. The 4th School of Tomorrow Conference opened to a crowd of over 600 delegates from over 9 countries at the Sunway Resort Hotel. The education conference is the fourth in a series of international conferences organised by Beaconhouse to explore a new vision […]

Christmas Decoration: One Utama’s Pastryland
It’s all about getting FAT and SUGAR HIGH in 1 Utama this Christmas! Fresh from the oven, we are dwarfed by the gigantic pastries and sorts. I didn’t get last year’s Underwater theme. I just don’t see the connection then. I don’t get this year’s extremely unhealthy theme neither. But for what is worth, they do look cute lah. Snowman yes, very Christmasy indeed. But gigantic biscuits? Raindrops falling on my head… Now we know […]

Improving toilet facilities around schools
Remember my post on Global Handwashing Day? In conjunction with Global Handwashing Day last October 15, I pledged to wash my hands with soap before eating via Lifebuoy’s FB page. Lifebuoy is a Unilever brand and one of the world’s leading germ-protection soap brands. Lifebuoy targets to collect 50,000 pledges where Lifebuoy will donate RM10,000 to selected schools around Klang Valley to improve their toilet facilities. Dare to be different
Ethan’s BaoBei teacher told him last Friday to bring an empty cut bottle to class on Monday for a project. They are learning about plants and as usual in BaoBei, every topic is followed by some practical learning. That is what I love most about this place as it is not just theory learning but hands-on too. Ethan said he believes the teacher will teach him to grow a plant in that cut bottle as […]
