Crossing the Road – A guide for children

It’s never too early to teach our kids how to cross the road. Ethan and I always sing to this tune:

Look left, right, left,
Before you cross the street,
Use your eyes, before you use your feet..

We were in IKEA today and Ethan proudly wanted to show his Daddy how he crosses the road..

Watch the light, watch the light,
Red means stop and green means go.
Press the button and watch the light,
They will tell you what you need to know.

Always think,
Before you act,
Because safety comes first,
And that’s a fact!

Stay away from the street,
Unless it’s time to cross,
Stay away, stay away,
Because the street is very dangerous!

*It’s nice to hold your friend’s hand as you cross the street. Look at the two guys in the pic! Hahaha*

This is the way to cross the street,
Look both ways, never cheat now,
The light is GREEN, direct your feet,
Always remember the safety rules now.

Cars can’t always see you,
When you cross their way,
So before you sail through,
Remember the safety rules.

STOP, LOOK, GO!

Hahaha on the last picture…our society so open minded nowadays…It’s good to teach Ethan crossing the road and abide to the traffic rules. Thumbs up!

Yes, people here like uncivilised, never follow rules one! And yes! Even if it is green, watch out! You will never know…

My daughter’s uni-mate crossed when the light was green and was run down by a speeding motorbike. Broken leg, had to go for surgery… Still not able to walk properly – dunno if can attend convo in NZ in December or not…. So sad.
