How to peel a kiwi?

Gold or rather yellow kiwi fruit is the craze these days. Nevermind how expensive they are, we are consuming them like mad just because they are said to be higher in nutrients. The fact that they are sweeter and bald makes it more appealing to me lah actually.

How do you peel a kiwi fruit anyway? I don’t like to use the peeler as I’ll end up wasting a thick chunk of skin and flesh of that precious gold!

So this is how I peel a kiwi:

Yikes, what is that kiwi bird doing here? I’m not talking about YOU, bird! -.-

So this is how I peel a kiwi fruit. I scoop the gold flesh out using a teaspoon.

Zespri New Zealand Kiwi

There, sweet and juicy golden kiwi ready to be eaten.

Cute kan? I can slice or cube them but best of all, no precious flesh is wasted! :)

  • //

Yes, I’ll just slice it into half and scoop it out! :D

  • //

My daughter has the t-shirt…from New Zealand.

  • //

Wah so handful skill, can peel off so nice.

  • //

I do just like that you did… no need knife too… a stainless steel spoon will do..

  • //

Yup, this is how I peel my kiwi too. But yours is so nice! You are very good at it!

  • //

i don’t peel. i use a spoon. scoop the flesh out and into my mouth

  • //

Erm… gold kiwis are higher in nutrients but they are more fattening too (due to higher content of sugar), so normally i’ll just go with the green ones and they are cheaper too! Anyway, i just halve them and scoop them and toss them into my mouth, lazy to peel lah~ :P

  • //

I used to peel the kiwi before but after the mess that I had created, I decided that it’ll be much cleaner if I had just halved them and scooped the kiwi from its skin into my mouth or into my yoghurt.

If you had collected those spoons (the yellow and green one) that came with the earlier packaging, you can use those spoons too. =)

Nicely done. I malas to do this – only use a spoon to scoop out the flesh and direct makan.

  • //

wow! mum u are so skillful! kiwi is expensive! =(

  • //

Can I just dig the flesh out form the skin so the skin is like a bowl instead? I eat dragon fruit that way too. I just dig the flesh out and the skin acts as a bowl. haha

  • //

wahaha. typed wrongly. from, not form. :P

  • //

interesting! I was able to taste kiwi shake once but haven’t tried eating a raw and fresh one…. we seldom have it here .. sigh

  • //

yes yes… that is the best and wisest way to eat a kiwi. no wastage, since they dont come cheap! :)

  • //

Till today…I still cannot stomach the taste of kiwi…then again i is a bit better than avocado.

  • //

We buy Kiwi from them…it is so expensive…but if you go there…Kiwis are like cheap fruits….

  • //

I also eat kiwi like that, prefer the yellow 1, more sweeter but also more expensive >.<

  • //
