Homemade Soya bean milk

It’s pretty hot these days. Took a shower and got all sweaty again soon after. I’ve not boiled soy milk for some time now and today seems like the perfect day to have some!

I soaked a bowl of soy bean in the morning and by the time Ethan is back from school they are all nice and fluffy.

I let Ethan peel the skin off those beans as he enjoys playing with them. I think it’s the water that fascinates him more and the fact that it keeps him occupied for at least an hour makes me happy ^_^ Once he is done ‘playing’, we rinse the beans and discard the remaining water.

He helped me pour the beans into the blender.

Add some water.

Whizz for a couple of minutes.

Pour into a coconut squeezer bag and squeeze dry.

Add pandan leaves for added fragrant and gently simmer. Add rock sugar and once boiled, turn off the stove.

Let cool and now I have delicious fresh soy milk ready for consumption at home :D

      OMG Arthur! >_<

  • //

what brand of machine is that?

    • //

Alisan. I use this processor to make ice blended juice too. Actually right, with this processor, we can blend soaked soy bean using hot water and drink it straight after. No need to filter or boil. But Ethan doesnt like the texture. He prefers the super fine texture of milk done the traditional way.

brilliant and healthy drink! i have not made it for some time. will give it a try soon!

  • //

I make this very often too but your method is a bit different from mine. I boil the blended pulp then only “filter” and squeeze dry (when it has cooled). I thought boiling the pulp would make it richer and more milky :)
