Mother’s Day craft: Crepe paper ‘pottery’
In the Studio yesterday, I wanted to get the kids to make a Mother’s Day gift since Mother’s Day is approaching. I couldn’t think of anything ‘outstanding’ yet so I shared with them this crepe paper ‘pottery’ project. I call it pottery because just like pottery with clay, you have to like roll the clay all around in circles before you can start shaping them.
We used the large toilet paper roll. Glue a cardboard at the base and let dry.
Cut strips of crepe paper and twist.
Twisting crepe paper is good to train the little kids’ motor skills and coordination.
Apply glue on the toilet paper roll and paste the twisted crepe paper, rolling and repeating with new strips of paper until you’ve covered the entire roll.
The kids busy at work.
Ethan’s completed ‘pottery’.
He decorated it to be a colourful alien bunny ^_^
Cavan did this beautiful BEE!
Aren’t they beautiful? I’d be very proud to have them on my working station :)
