What’s in his milk?

Shocking! Darling was reading the papers today (yeah, he diligently reads the papers everyday.. I don’t :P) when he came across this article. The first thing I noticed was the 13 teaspoons of added sugars every day! What? So I thought they were referring to those super sweet UHT milk, you know, those kotak kotak one in the market? Terus I told Ethan, no more susu kotak for you boy! But as I read further […]

Worms for breakfast?

Breakfast is usually the first meal of the day. How many of you have breakfast everyday before you leave for work (or school)?  Majority of my students don’t take breakfast before they go to school! *And you wonder why you can’t concentrate in class!* We were at this amazing place last weekend and ate something yummy during breakfast. It never occured to us that it will end up looking ‘different’ on camera! When Kimmy played with my […]

Alan Tang dies.. not a hoax

After that stupid hoax of Jackie Chan being dead going viral online yesterday, we are shocked yet again with another death news. Alan was found dead by his maid, who called the […]

The resources are Malaysian-made; using 8,000 pieces of disused railway sleepers for staircases, more than 6,000 tons of […]

Hi, I’m Submerryn. Let’s bump our phones :D

Since the existence of the Internet, how often do you snail mail or physically print information? These days information are mostly transferred online. I have been to business meetings where instead of exchanging name cards, they “Bump” their business card images through their iPhone. Ever encountered that? Oh yes believe me, such situations do exist!  Those smart phone users are really weird people I tell you. They downloaded this application called “Bump” and just by […]

It’s 4.30am and I really should be sleeping. Well, I was asleep but somehow I got up again. Maybe I am still unable to digest that I’ve just dined with Alan Yun I was already smitten by his charming smile when we first dined at Terrace Arms a fortnight ago. Back then we were hosted by Guinness and Terrace Arms. Today is a completely different scenario though for today, Alan played host to us. Yes, […]

Bao Bei Reading Wonderland.. any good?

Okay. Since Ethan’s reading in English is progressing well, we thought of sending him for Chinese lessons. I am a bit sceptical (being a banana, I’m afraid he might not be able to cope). But I heard that the best age to learn a new language is before the child turns 6 years old. We are looking high and low for a reputable and reliable centre when the obvious came to mind – Bao Bei […]

Ikan oh Ikan…

There are 3 of us at home. The cook, the little boss and the big boss. The cook’s mom gave the cook a huge ikan tenggiri if I’m not mistaken when she came for a visit not too long ago.  Today, the big boss is down with throat irritation. He wants to eat steamed fish. The little boss wants fried fish with browned garlic all over and the cook is craving for something spicy. What […]

Kidz Art ‘N’ Fun Zone

Eversince 1 Utama underwent major renovation, I hardly spend time there anymore. These days I frequent Ikano Power Centre more. Ethan has been spending lots of time in Smaland, Ikea. My HONEYMOON

It was 12.30noon. I had cravings for Snowflakes the other day in office so I ajak Mr. Boss to drive us there. Mana tau, Snowflakes is only open at 1pm! Mr. Boss said since we have already driven all the way there and found a good parking spot, might as well not waste the opportunity.  I’ve always wanted to try My HONEYMOON so we went there instead which was located few lots away from Snowflakes! Smaland, The Magic Forest

I’ve been eyeing IKEA’s Smaland even before I had Ethan. I have always wanted to let Ethan play there but never have the courage to let him go mainly because I won’t be allowed to enter with him. A couple of weeks ago a sudden gust of courage swept over me. I brought Ethan to Smaland and asked him if he wants to enter. Of course he answered YES! I was worried as he will […]

Terrace Arms March Guinness Food Festival

St. Patrick’s Day is celebrated on March 17, his religious feast day and the anniversary of his death in the fifth century. The Irish have observed this day as a religious holiday for over a thousand years. On St. Patrick’s Day, which falls during the Christian season of Lent, Irish families would traditionally attend church in the morning and celebrate in the afternoon. Lenten prohibitions against the consumption of meat were waived and people would […]

Why playground time is vital

The best inheritance a parent can give to his children is a few minutes of their time everyday, so PLAYGROUND time is VERY important to us. For only at the playground can.. the little one teach Daddy to cycle… watch Daddy’s back so he won’t fall… assures Daddy that he won’t let go… never, ever letting go… but sorry-lah Daddy! YOU are too heavy and I think I saw a pretty chic on the swing! […]

Learning to read with e-Xra

When Ethan was younger, I taught him to read using the whole word approach. Here’s a video of him reading at 16 months old. *pls excuse my loud voice, did not realise i was being loud* :( And here is a video of him reading at 20 months old. Now that he’s over 3 years old, I introduced reading the phonetic way. I don’t usually use phonics to teach kids below 5 years old as […]
