Pin Xiang @ Aman Suria
The food’s digested so here is my full entry after the teaser on our dinner with Alan Yun the other day :P We were treated to a scrumptious dinner at Alan’s newly opened restaurant Pin Xiang @ Aman Suria. Alan was his usual charming self, enchanting the patrons to the full-housed restaurant that night.
Pin Xiang @ Aman Suria
The first thing that came to my mind when we got there was that it sure doesn’t look like the place has just been opened for 2 weeks. Look at the crowd! There was hardly any tables left empty except two in the corner reserved for us!
After getting seated and comfortable, we were feasted to a wide array of Chinese cuisine.
Champagne Spare Ribs – I adore the succulent spare ribs. Cooked until the sauce evaporates, this dish will go well with just about anyone. The sweet and juicy watermelon on the sides complement this dish perfectly!
The Deep Fried Salted Egg Yolk Mantis Prawn are delightfully crunchy yet juicy on the inside. Took a bite of it and burstful flavours of egg yolk mixed with curry leaves and dried chillies filled my mouth. They are aromatic and extremely tasty!
The Mixed Eight Treasure Vege is really a delectable dish. The crispy lotus root is such a delight to munch! I simply love the crackling asparagus and cashew nuts.
Pin Xiang Special Deep Fried Talapia Fish
Pin Xiang Village Chicken. The best part of this dish has got to be the gravy. You’ve got to taste the gravy. Drizzle some over your hot steamed rice.. Drool!
Poached Spicy Intestine Salad. This is one of MY favourite! The spicy intestine is very appetizing. I love the crunch each time I bite on it. It makes for a good munch! I had multiple helpings of this :D
Steamed Frog with Minced Ginger and Garlic. When was the last time I had frog? If I recalled correctly was when I was about Ethan’s age (3-4 years old). My only memory of eating frog was how tender the flesh was. So when they served us this, I asked what’s that and the moment they responded, “Ting Kai” which translates as FROG, I squealed in delight! I took a bite and childhood memories of me eating frog meat flashed in my mind! True enough, the meat is very tender. I gave Ethan a bite and he asked for more! That was his first time eating frog meat that night.
Supreme Soy Sauce Prawn. The supreme sauce gave just the right flavour to complement the fresh succulent prawns.
Sweet and Sour Pork in Yam Basket is easily everybody’s favourite. The pork strips are crispy and I like the fact that the gravy does not overwhelm the dish. I think I gobbled the remaining yam basket as it is delicious after absorbing the flavour of the sauce :D
Alan being the most accommodating host :)
Making sure we are well fed and satisfied :D

Food looks absolutely great. That handsome guy can cook kah? Just keluar duit only, eh? I would expect him to open some high class western joint…but of course, places like this one make a lot more money and last a lot longer too provided the food is great and the prices reasonable.
