Teens and the difficult years
How old are your kids? Mine has just turned 3 and is still cute :D He is still our little bundle of joy; bringing sunshine and smiles to our face every second of the day. I dread to imagine what will happen say ten years from now when he gets into his teenage years. I do hope that he’ll stay grounded and will still be as nice or better.
Well, there is no denying that most teens out there do look wasted to me these days. They go around walking like they have not slept the night before and I know that it is indeed true that they do not sleep at night! They are in fact the new generation of human owls.
These owls spend the nights partying and getting wasted and walk around during the day looking like zombies from the late Michael Jackson’s Thriller video. These owls are not bad people. They are just lost. According to some teen addiction info, they are just young humans wanting to have fun, seeking thrills and doing things for the sake of wanting to experience everything. Curiosity brought them to where they are now.
I just hope that their parents or guardians will soon realise that this can’t go on forever. Sooner or later, they’ll have to face reality and might want to source for the best and effective teen alcohol rehab centre around. If booze is not their only problem, they might find that they might need to even source for some teen drug treatment too.
As parents, we need to spend maximum time with our kids from day 1 and hope that they won’t get lost when they enter their teenage years. I hope that when my kid is a teenage, he’ll be able to treat us as a friend and confide in us. How do I ensure that happens? I don’t know. Life is a learning process… we’ll never be able to say that we’ve learnt it all.

They must learn to say 'no' to their peers.
I hope Ethan will not be like that in his teens! : )
Drugs and such are things of current, just like how ciggy was the in thing for 20 years ago. By the time our kids grows up, they'll have much more knowledge about this and avoid it.However unscrupulous people will look for some other ways to poison them. :(It's the vicious cycle of "fast money".
scary huh? so i think i shud very thankful for having such strict parents. :)
All in all we must always look at them no matter what. :D
Yes agreed I do hope I can have close friend relationship with my kids. For me I think those kids shower with love from parent aren't going to lost track in future.
The teen years are the most dangerous, it either turns them into bad apple or create a good man. Cultivate lots of good things in them when they are young, and I thought sending them to a Sunday school might helps too! Involved them in healthy activities…like charities and volunteering work. Church is a good place to start , if you are a Christian.
Yes, those are the most difficult years. But with proper guidance and bonding and a lot of loving and caring during their growing childhood years, it is most unlikely that they will be easily influenced. Most who turn to drugs are unloved, neglected and they seek acceptance and fulfilment elsewhere. Good luck…
