Take-away Yee Sang and Chinese New Year dishes: Three Brothers Restaurant

I blogged about this restaurant nearby my place; well-known for their fresh seafood. It is kind of a hidden treasure because not many people are aware of their location unless they are staying or working nearby.

Restaurant Three Brothers
No 23G, Jalan Bulan CA/U5,
Bandar Pinggiran Subang,
Seksyen U5, 40150 Shah Alam.
Tel : 012-315 2953

Just to jolt your memory, we went for their Yee Sang preview earlier and were very impressed with their thick cut of fresh giant clam and salmon. When I blogged about it and their delightful festive dishes, someone commented that she refrained from dining in restaurants during Chinese New Year due to the time limit imposed as usually restaurants will have two sessions for dine-in:
Group A (6pm – 8pm)
Group B (8pm – 10pm)

Because of that, we went back to the restaurant to check out their take-away Yee Sang and festive dishes.

Yes, why eat in a hurry in a crowded restaurant when we can take-away and eat at the comfort of our own home?

We sampled the following take-away food that evening:
Yee Sang from RM48
Abalone dry seafood soup rm688
Golden treasure pot rm588 (poon choy)
Iberico platter rm380
Chef’s special steam rice rm8/pcs

Take-away Yee Sang starts from RM48 onwards depending on what we add-on.

We had Yee Sang with fish roe, Norwegian salmon, crispy fish skin and more. I really love how the fish roe pops in our mouth. The crispy fish skin gives a very nice texture to the entire package.

Their special plum sauce makes the entire yee sang platter really moist and deliciously appetizing.

And then it was time to toss to prosperity, longevity and good health.

Once a year, we are allowed or rather encouraged to make a big mess out of our food as it is believed the higher you toss, the higher your life and social standard will improve and the bigger a mess you make symbolises the bigger the grounds all these well wishes will cover in your life.

Abalone dry seafood soup rm688

At RM688, you’ll get to take away this nutritious soup including the beautiful heavy porcelain bowl with lid. I know someone who has a weakness for anything blue and white and I’m sure he’ll love this lovely soup bowl.

Golden treasure pot rm588 (poon choy)

Similar with the soup, the treasure pot is for us to keep. It comes in a golden bag for us to bring home as the chefs at Restaurant Three Brothers put a high emphasize on presentation. Eventhough these are for takeaway, they still ensure that it is presentable.

I can’t believe how much treasures can actually fit inside this pot. Just look at that! There were 14 of us dining that evening and there were enough food to go around from that single pot.

Iberico platter rm380

This restaurant pride themselves in iberico hence it is no surprise that it is also available for takeaway.

The Spanish Iberico Ribs is done perfectly with crisp surface yet tender and juicy flesh. It was well marinated and roasted evenly.

Iberico de cebo with melon proves to be one of the best combination out there. Sweet melon coupled with salty ham is just perfect. Topped with caviar and gold flakes makes this such an elegant dish.

The iberico collar is highly-prized for its super tender and well-marble ratio that renders great juiciness. We can actually taste a nuttiness in the meat which I assume must come from the acorns in their diet. This dish is flavorful with a good bite.

Chef’s special steam rice rm8/pcs

Last but not least, the chef’s special steam rice is individually packed for easy serving. If you are too stuffed by the end of dinner, you can simply store this in the fridge and steam it for breakfast the next day.

Now, taking away these delicious food is certainly a better alternative to dining out for Chinese New Year.

I know you love it. I was referring to you when I wrote that caption. Haha. Diners actually get to keep that bowl when they order this soup to take-away.
