Canton2go – Food delivered right to your doorstep
At this stage of my life, I spend so much time raising the kids, we hardly get to catch up with friends. Our friends are also mostly busy with either work or their family that if we don’t make the effort, we will never get to meet-up.
Last weekend, we decided to surprise our good friend; the person you don’t always see but is very much involved in my blog. He is the one who manages this blog of mine and whom I call for help middle of the night should something go wrong with it. We had countless sessions of remote assistance but too few sessions of catching up in real time.
So last week I just dropped him a line asking if he will be around and when he said yes, I proceeded to self-invite my family over. His son is Ethan’s age so they get along very well.
I did not want to trouble them to bring us out makan hence I decided to give them another surprise by calling for food delivery over to their house.
We were late and the food arrived at our friend’s house before us
We can actually Mix and Match our order but I am too lazy for that because there are too many dishes to choose from, I just can’t decide!
I placed my order a day earlier. I decided to go with the Chef Recommended Exclusive Combo Set as I find the menu suitable for kids.
This is Kimmy, his lovely wife Julie and son Jonathan.
Kimmy is a long time friend. I know him from school. Both Kimmy and Julie are my juniors in school. He is only 2 months younger than me but yeah, still a junior
These are the food we had that evening:
Assam Sauce Fillet
The assam sauce was very nice. It’s like the ones you have with ikan bakar. I actually drenched the sauce over everything I ate that evening.
Honey Chicken for the boys.
I stole all the pineapples from the Pineapple Pork Rib
Unfortunately the Salted Egg Squid was no longer crispy after surviving the journey from the restaurant to Kimmy’s house.
Fish Paste Cake
Fried Egg with Glass Noodles and Ham
Fried Broccoli with Mushroom
Ayden loved this broccoli with mushroom dish a lot. He single-handedly finish almost all the mushroom!
Dessert was cut fruits.
At RM38 per pax, canton2go will deliver your order right to your doorstep in convenient, ready-to-serve containers.
The meal delivery comes with complementary table cloth, plastic cutlery sets and plates.
Minimum order is for 10 pax and that was what I ordered as shown in the picture above.
When they mentioned 10 pax, I am not sure if they meant 10 adults or maybe 5 adults/ 5 kids as the feedback I got from Kimmy, Julie and Darling was that the food was great but the portion can be improved as it won’t feed 10 adults well, 8 adults the most.
Anyway for us 4 adults and 3 kids, we had more than enough food for the evening.
The boys had a great time with the Xbox, working out some sweat after dinner. It was nice catching up. We should totally do this again.
