Ready to dig in.
NY Steak Shack’s new line up – Sizzling Sharing Platters and more.
The first thing we did was to order milkshakes for the boys. These are their famous Wildberry and Chocolate Milkshakes. They have a new addition to their milkshakes – D’ Chiller.
D’ Chiller is a lemon milkshake with a refreshing minty taste. It is available at a special introductory price of RM5.90 (RM6.25 with GST)
The first item we sampled from the new menu is their new selection of Starters called D’Bomb.
D’Bomb is a homemade 150gm giant meatball made of 80% lean meat and 20% fat with chopped carrots and onion hidden in it. What better way to make the kids eat their vege than hiding carrots in these delicious meatball. It is served with toasted oregano bun and grilled corn which is Ayden’s favourite. He super loves corn.
Ethan and Ayden shared this meatball and they are already half full!
Talking about meat patties, let’s take a look at their new Spicy Salsa Lamb Burger. RM23.90 (RM25.33 with GST)
Freshly made 165gm burger patty, it is cooked to order and served with spicy, sweet and sour salsa sauce.
The salsa gives the lamb burger that explosive kick that I love so much. It makes this burger stands out from the usual ones as the piquant sensation dances in the mouth making me want to have more.
If you are dining with family or friends, their Sizzling Platter is a good choice.
D’ Perfect Match consists of marinated spicy lamb (200gms) and spicy ribeye steak (200 gms) topped with brown sauce on a bed of pumpkin mushroom rice with mixed veggies and corn. RM59.90 (RM63.50 with GST).
If you are not a fan of either one, you may choose to have both lambs or both steak at no additional charges.
This dish is served on a sizzling hot plate so it is recommended to remove the steak and place it on another plate if you do not want it to be overdone. The pumpkin rice is flavourful and goes well with the kids. I asked the chef how it is done and was told that they first bake the pumpkin, then puree it before mixing and cooking it together with the rice. The mushroom is sauted and mixed into the rice after the rice is cooked. Brilliant!
This next platter is definitely for meat lovers. Meaty Affairs comes with homemade giant meatballs (300gm) topped with sauteed mushroom and caramelised onions, lamb leg (200gm) grilled to perfection and buffalo wings. Complemented by that same pumpkin mushroom rice with mixed veggies and corn that we love very much. RM59.90 (RM63.50 with GST)
We also got the privilege to preview their Treasures In A Bag that will be available from 1 June 2016 for a limited time only.
Served from a nylon bag onto a sizzling hot plate right in front of us, this sizzling platter consists of ribeye steak (200 gms) and homemade meatballs (150gms) topped with mixed veggies and corn in homemade black pepper sauce served on a bed of pumpkin mushroom rice.
The purpose of serving this from a nylon bag is because they braised the beef in the bag to preserve the flavour and aroma during the process of slow cooking.
Treasures In A Bag. A sizzling plate of peppery goodness. RM59.90 (RM63.50 with GST)
My verdict on The Gastronomic Adventure dishes is Malaysians will definitely love it as these dishes have been localised to suit our tastebuds. It is a refreshing change from the usual western fares. Everything is aptly done to complement the upcoming fasting month.
Throughout the duration of The Gastronomic Adventure, diners will be entitled to get 1 x Fizzies (bottomless) and 1 x Mushroom soup for only RM5.30 (usual price RM12.50) with a purchase of any main course.
