Simple Homemade Burger Patty Recipe
Burger joints are mushrooming around the Klang Valley lately. It makes me crave for burgers day and night but Darling doesn’t bring me there mostly because their burger patties are made of beef and both Darling and Ethan do not take beef :(
Now that I’m a mother, hygiene and health is another factor. We never know what goes into their burger patties. Unlike those days when I was in college and survived on frozen burger patties, these days, I try to DIY anything from scrap in order not to end up eating horse meat! :P
So yesterday while waiting for Ethan to finish class, I went to get the ingredients needed to make the patties.
Submerryn’s Homemade Pork Burger
I used pork instead of beef as those two boys of mine do not take beef. Mince until fine.
I made my own breadcrumbs too. You can make your own breadcrumbs. It’s as simple as ABC. Refer to my post here -> Making Your Own Breadcrumbs
Ingredients for the homemade pork patty:
1) 200 gm minced pork
2) 1 tablespoon milk
3) 1 egg
4) 1 cup breadcrumbs (made from 2 slices of bread)
5) garlic and onion (chopped finely)
6) 1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce
7) Salt and Pepper to taste
Add the ingredients into a large bowl and mix.
Divide equally into 4 portions.
Scoop 1 portion out and toss in the air until you get a smooth round ball.
Press in the middle to flatten it.
Heat pan, add olive oil and pan fry (about 3 mins on each side). Remove.
In the same pan, fry some sliced big onions and add thick sauce. Remove.
Slice the burger bun and start piling on whatever tickles your fancy.
My yummy homemade pork burger is a SUCCESS! The patty is soft, moist and not at all crumbly :D
It costs me less than RM5 for each. Simply economical and no, I don’t need to queue for over an hour at those burger joints just for a bite of burger! ^_^

Worcestershire sauce aka Lea & Perrins :D I think that won’t make much difference if you omit it out. ^_^
