Volkswagen Polo GTI

Volkswagen. I’ll always remember them for ignoring Darling and I. When we were thinking of replacing our V6, we had this interest on VW Passat CC hence we went to their showroom to have a look. After speaking to the sales person, we requested for a test drive. Guess what? He told us that he’ll call us back. Great! That is as good as telling an upfront NO to us. True enough, a week gone by without a single call from them. Months later still no news.
And then Nuffnang together with Volkswagen organised a test drive session for six Volkswagen models : Polo, Polo GTi, Jetta, Golf, Passat and Passat CC in Desa Park City. We got the invites.
So there we were at Desa Park City car park on that lovely Saturday. Surprise, surprise! That SALESMAN was there too! >_<
Tak kisah ler. We just carried on with the sole purpose of that day – to test drive that Passat CC! Not only did we managed to test drive the Passat CC, we also got to test drive the Polo GTi, Jetta and Passat 1.8! Hmph!
Okay, the first car we drove is the Passat CC but today’s post will be on the Polo GTi. You know why? Because I drove the GTi! Darling drove the rest of the cars, I did not

So I took the Polo GTI for a spin out of the car park into the neighbourhood. I think there are like at least a dozen road humps that we had to go through! So you can imagine the scenario. You accelerate, you brake. You press on the accelerator again, you step on the brake again. That goes on until we made a complete circle and back to the car park!
For what is worth, Darling managed to really step on the accelerator (and quickly step on the brake) that sent butterflies in my stomach. Ethan was like cheering, “Go faster Daddy, go faster!” The electronically controlled anti-lock braking system ABS is.. I would like to say responsive but.. The first time I step on the brake I almost throw all of us out of the car. It needs some getting used to so after going through several road humps, we are driving (and braking) like a pro!
We fell in love with how powerful the GTi is that even after the event Darling kept on vroom, vrooming his car the rest of the day! Adrenalin rush ler tu!
