Feeling extremely happy and joyful with the perfect weather yesterday, we decided to visit the Eye On Malaysia in Malacca. ‘We’ this time consists of my Dad, Mum, Darling, Ethan and me. My Dad drove us there as Darling is not very familiar with Malacca town’s road. It took us 30 minutes before we finally get to [...]

23. Early Christmas for Ethan…
Yesterday we went to a warehouse sale where toys with brands such as VTech, IQ Builders and many more were on sale. We bought a considerable amount of stuffs with such great bargains. This sale happens only once a year and we are very fortunate the venue is just 7.5 minutes drive away from home. These are Ethan’s early Christmas gifts: IQ Builders’ Smarty Cat Laptop, IQ Builders’ Raffle’s Alphabet Garden, V-Tech’s Playtime Bus, V-Tech’s [...]

22. Meals in a flash…
Sometimes I do not have much time to cook as Ethan is NOT always so obedient to be sitting on the floor whilst I cook away. Sometimes he is being naughty and will not let go of my leg. That is the time I call for desperate measures… to cook a complete meal in a flash! Today happens to be the day he is naughty. I had to change my menu at the very last [...]

21. First formal lesson
Last Saturday I brought Ethan to visit my ex-colleagues in Vital Years. Vital Years is an Early English Literacy Centre catered for children from the age of 2 – 10 years old. As soon as he entered the centre, he was so at home. He went straight towards the other children there and started playing with them. I left the classroom leaving him behind. I was expecting some drama but to my surprise he did [...]

20. Disney Festive Fun-tasy at NZX Mall
Was anticipating this day for the WHOLE week! Finally we were there. And by we, I meant Darling, Ethan, Sherlene, Kym and James. Arrived there around 5.45pm so we went around to explore the mall. Nice place I would say. I loved the many varieties of shops around, but as James said it, the shops were mostly unmanned, we did not know why…Had dinner at Full House. The place was nice with very beautiful settings [...]

16. Bad Picture Day – The final outcome
I posted a not so flattering pic of my friend Rose in one of my blogs last Oct. Such a pity that I did not post the so-called ‘flattering’ version. After much request from certain parties, here is the end result… Ok ok.. NOW you guys can start laughing at ME! I know I look weird… with that baju and all… Those are the good ol’ days and I sure did not feel ‘weird’ back [...]

14. Banana Boy…
Was chatting with my cuz Jo when the topic of language came out. I was telling her Ethan’s circle of friends at the playground, Malays, Indons, Indians and Chinese… yes… in THAT order! It’s not that there are no Chinese kids around, there are, but you see, my little Ethan is like me. We speak English and BM… no Chinese dialect. So you can imagine the ‘chicken and duck’ scenario when these Chinese kids are [...]

13. There’s a whole new world out there… through reading..
I love reading. Each time I go shopping, I’ll make it a point to drop by any bookstore and sit there for at least 15 – 30 minutes reading before I decide what reading materials I will or will not purchase. Nowadays, I don’t go reading alone. I’ll have a little one tagging along. He has acquired the reading habit and will select his own reading materials (which consists mainly of picture and one word [...]

12. Little Artist
On any ordinary day, Ethan sleeps at 9-10pm and rises at 7.30am. During the day he naps for another 1-2 hours. On average, Ethan sleeps around 11-12 hours a day. That leaves plenty of AWAKE time for him. Besides eating and playing, what else can I do to keep him occupied? Once in a while, I like to nurture the ‘creative’ side of him. I let him play with colours.. any types of colours ie. [...]
