First time doing a TV recording with our friends and their kids

Never under estimate the power of blogging. The other day, when I blogged about Ethan making honeydew smoothie here, it caught the attention of Yvonne from TV1 and she called me to request for a tutorial recording. She also read about my donut and pizza bento posts and wanted us to demo how to make them too. Of course I agreed but the only problem then was the recording will be held at MY house. […]

PapaBlend review: Making ice-blended honeydew drink

The scorching hot weather is unbearable lately. We kept stuffing ourselves with ice-creams but I prefer to get something more nutritious for Ethan if possible. So the other day, we bought some honeydews. Ethan has never eaten honeydew before so I wasn’t sure if he’ll love this ice-blended drink or not. Nevertheless, I got him to help me out so he’ll know exactly what he’ll be drinking.  Honeydew slices and ice.  Ethan scooped the honeydew […]

How was your weekend?

Mine was a fantastic one. It’s always fantastic when I’m back in my parent’s place. The first thing that greeted me upon arrival is the long craved nasi lemak bunga telang with kangkung, anchovies, prawn sambal, boiled egg and cucumber. Urm, actually my niece, my sister and my mom greeted me first but ah well, I was so looking forward to EAT this! Haha.. *aiyaiyai.. now i feel like eating this again* This nasi lemak […]

Launch of Dumex Mamil All ‘n One

Nine out of 10 growing-up children in Malaysia are lacking a balanced diet, which means they are not consuming the five key food groups (fruits and vegetables, carbohydrates, protein, dairy, and fats) in the right proportions. Most do not consume enough fruits and vegetables and are deficient in micronutrients such as vitamins A, D and calcium. They also have excess in protein and fat intakes. The findings from the recent dietary study conducted by Universiti […]

Simple donut bento for kids

A very quick update. I made an extremely simple donut bento for Ethan today. His snack break time is only 10 minutes so he has very limited time to eat. That’s also the reason why his lunch box is very simple with minimal food in it.  Bread donut bento 1) Spread peanut butter/chocolate or any spread of your choice on a piece of bread. 2) Place another piece of bread on it.  3) Use a […]

Bento making for beginners

Ethan will be starting Kindy this 1st of March. I did not pay for his snacks in school as being a former Kindy teacher I know how ‘nice and healthy’ canteen food can be.  I talked to Ethan and he is okay with the idea of bringing his own food. But that is before he actually goes to school and sees his friends eating different. I am afraid by then he might not be happy […]

Tickling My Tastebuds

I’m not an early bird as the thought of “The early bird catches the worm” scares the heck out of me. Mind you, I don’t want to be eating worms for breakfast! I want to have Dim Sums! But Dim Sum breakfast is a very rare treat for me as we don’t have the time during weekday rush and on weekends the earliest we usually leave the house is at noon. I don’t like to […]

This year, my parents did not celebrate Chinese New Year in Malacca due to the passing of the family’s matriarch last year. My eldest sister (and family) took my parents to Gold Coast Morib Resort instead. We joined them on the 2nd day of Chinese New Year. Though we just had lunch before pushing off to Morib, we arrived just in time as my family were about to have lunch so we ate together much […]

How many of you here is a fan of ice-blended beverages? I’m a HUGE fan of ice-blended but not just any blender can blend ice, mind you. I was so excited I told Darling I’m so gonna […]

Going Japanese this Valentine’s Day at Fu-Rin Japanese Restaurant

From the very first year Darling and I dated, we’ve always celebrated Valentine’s Day having western food. I don’t know why, it was never Oriental, local or anything but it has always been WESTERN! This year however, we celebrated Valentine’s with a twist. Well, besides celebrating it a week earlier and also celebrating it together with friends, we went Japanese this time around at Fu-Rin Japanese Restaurant, Holiday Inn Kuala Lumpur Glenmarie. Preparing for pregnancy

When you see married couples without a baby, your immediate thoughts would be, “Why?” and you can’t keep yourself from asking them, “When?” When people see married couples with only ONE child, they’ll not hesitate to ask, “When’s number TWO coming along?” I got asked that question ALL THE TIME now that Ethan is already 5. While I can always avoid that topic when he was younger, it is not so easy to brush people […]
