The 3 Most Tiring Parts of Being a Stay At Home Mom

Growing up, though my Mom did a great job of staying home and taking care of us, it was never in my plan to be like her. I was always that free-spirited person who prefers not to be tied down with chores (especially house chores) and even more horrifying – child care! I much prefer to be working and be someone prominent in the corporate world. Even until the day I delivered Ethan I was […]

Test of manhood.. urm… manliness

A boy is considered a man when some parts of his body are fully developed. However, there are people who believe that a man can only be called a man if he is brave and has done something big to earn the righteous title. In my household, my boys are automatically upgraded to men if they can complete one task – killing cockroach. I am extremely scared of cockroaches. I will sream my lungs out […]

Our First Scavenger Hunt

We spent our Sunday at The School, Jaya One for the third installment of HP Kids Day Out. We attended all three HP Kids Day Out todate. Their first HP Kids Day Out was held last November at GSC Signature where we were treated to the screening of The Good Dinosaur. The second installment of HP Kids Day Out was in February this year whereby we got to experience our very first Laser Tag game at […]

Craft for Toddlers: Leaf Stamp Art

Ayden enjoyed doing the Torn Paper Apple Art we did several days ago and kept requesting for more arts and crafts activities. I happily obliged. This time I brought them outdoor. The weather is always beautiful in the evenings and it will be such a waste not to enjoy it. I made a video of Ayden painting and stamping independently. The elder brother Ethan disappeared soon after collecting leaves to join his friends for a game […]

Ayden’s first professional hair cut and it’s FREE!

Last Sunday I went to get my hair cut. I’ve not had a hair cut since January and it is really messy. I took this opportunity to get Ayden’s hair cut too. It is Ayden’s first professional hair cut and it’s FREE! 😘 “Number76 gives free hair cut to all kids below 5, if their parent is a member” Since I will be there for a hair cut and hair relaxing service, I might as well arrange […]

Hazel’s 17th Birthday

This post is specially dedicated to my niece Hazel who celebrated her 17th birthday last weekend at Anggrek Kuring, Bandar Putri, Puchong. The Indonesian food was great and suits the Peranakan family well. She’s only 17 but she’s already taller than me Many said she looks similar to me in the above pic. Poor girl. Haha. Happy Birthday Hazel nut. Many of her school friends came to celebrate with her but why all boys nih? […]

Teeth Scaling Experience

How often should we go to the dentist for teeth cleaning? I was told that we should visit the dentist every 6 months and get our teeth cleaned at least once a year. I know many of my friends make it a point to do scaling or whatever every year end or beginning of the year coz it is believed clean teeth leads to a healthier body. Would you believe it if I tell you […]

Thomas & Friends in 1Utama

The Island of Sodor was in 1 Utama last weekend and I know you, you and you brought your kids there didn’t you? Don’t lie, if you did not, then how come the place is over-crowded? So many kids running around, I am so afraid I will lose sight of little Ayden so I made sure the Daddy held on to him at all time.  Suddenly families from everywhere were in 1 Utama last weekend, […]

The Story of My Fried Chicken

Let me tell you a little story. I usually cook chicken stew because it is one of the easiest meal to prepare. It also serves as a one pot dish as there are vegetables in it too. I have been alternating chicken stew and fried fish for the past months that the boys can tell today is chicken stew day and tomorrow they’ll know they will get fried fish. They love both the chicken stew […]

It is getting better

My relationship with my in-laws might not be smooth in the beginning of my marriage due to the language barrier but it improved with the arrival of Ethan. It got better once Ethan started school and learn to speak Mandarin. Nowadays, the boys love going back to my in-law’s coz there are snacks everywhere.  My father in-law runs a sundry shop so he has an ever ready supply of ice-creams 24/7! The kids are so […]

Ethan’s Turn

A reader asked me the other day why is my blog mostly about Ayden and is lacking on Ethan’s update? Well, I can only tell him that Ethan spends most of his time in school and by the time he is home, he will be busy with his own stuffs where else Ayden is ALWAYS with me hence the biased update.  Anyway, today’s update is dedicated to Ethan. It is ALL ABOUT ETHAN today. I […]

Activities for Toddlers in KidZania

We brought the boys to KidZania today. I was surprised that we needed to pay RM39 for Ayden to enter and play too. I asked them what can a 2 1/2 year old kid do in KidZania? To my amazement, they told me there are 19 activities suitable for toddlers in KidZania. Ethan’s entrance fee is RM80 (9 year old) while both Darling and I are RM39 each for parents. So let’s check out what are the […]

HORLICKS, a popular nutritional health food drink for children contains 23 vital nutrients which are essential for growth and children’s developments. Monkeys

I always sing with Ayden the nursery rhyme that goes like this, “Mummy called the doctor and the doctor said, ‘No more monkeys jumping on the bed’ “ The other day when Ayden was admitted in the hospital, I introduced the doctors and nurses to him. He laughed and said we are the monkeys the doctor has always been telling not to jump on the bed. I laughed with him and never thought much about […]

School reopens. I am sure the children will be sharing with each other what they did during the school holidays. Ethan has done nothing much except being in the hospital. We have not been to the movies eversince Ethan started school in the morning session. So […]

Celebrating Mummy’s Birthday @ THE SQUARE, Novotel Melaka

We were in Melaka two weeks ago for an early celebration of my mother’s birthday as I know I won’t be able to go back to be with her on her actual birthday which is today, 20 March. We went for hi-tea at The Square, Novotel Melaka.  There are indoor and outdoor seating to suit your preference.  It is breezy and nice outside but the boys chose to sit inside.  The first thing that caught […]

I am sorry for not answering or returning your calls, replying private messages, comments and more. I know everyone is concerned and wants to know what happened to us, particularly Ayden but I do not have time to explain to each and every one. Happenings at HOME

Let me tell you a little about the happenings in our home this week..  I usually sleep facing Ayden so whenever he needs milk at night, he can just lift my shirt up and drink. We were back in my in-law’s place during the recent Chinese New Year break. There wasn’t much to do over there but the boys got the opportunity to be Kampung boys. Our 9th Day of Chinese New Year

On the ninth day of the Chinese New Year it would be the celebration known to the Hokkiens as “Phai Thien Kong” which literally means “praying the Heaven God”. Prayers usually starts from 11pm on the 8th day or midnight onwards on the 9th day. Eversince I got married to Darling, I had been following him back to his hometown for this prayers except this year.   There is no school holiday for this special celebration this year and […]

Thank goodness Chinese New Year is only celebrated once a year. It is so tiring to prepare for CNY (this coming from me who doesn’t even cook for the reunion dinner). Can You Make An Egg Stand?

If you never got your eggs to stand before, today is a good day to try. Egg balancing has been connected with Lichun, the solar term beginning of Chinese spring (春) though I heard that it is possible to make egg stand any other day of the year. It started with successfully making an egg stand. And then there are 6. No glue were used in the making of these standing eggs but what is even more amazing is…  We managed […]

Ayden’s First Time Flying

Last Saturday was Ayden’s first time flying. We flew to Singapore. We took Firefly from Subang to Singapore and return with Malaysia Airlines to KLIA. I prefer flying from Subang airport. More over, the cab fee is definitely cheaper but we had no choice, we had to take MH home as there are no more flights from […]

Counting down to fireworks to welcome 2016

It is our annual ritual to welcome the New Year counting down to the fireworks display at major shopping malls. I’ve been doing this with Darling eversince we were dating and continued the tradition until today. Back in those days when I was dating, we used to take the LRT to the city centre to countdown at KLCC or Dataran Merdeka. These days we don’t do that anymore. We will just drive to the malls […]

Sanrio Hello Kitty Town, Nusajaya Johor

During our Theme Park Exploration trip down south last month, we dropped by Sanrio Hello Kitty Town in Nusajaya Johor to check what the hype is all about.  The entrance fee is quite expensive for such a small place. Both adults and children are charged the same rate which I think is a bit ridiculous. They should have a fee structure according to age just like Kidzania where the adult’s fee is cheaper than the […]
