Year end means Y.E.S! Y.E.S means Year End Sales everywhere and boyfriends or husbands all around the world have no choice but to say YES when the other half wants to shop. But fret not you cheapskate men out there as here’s a way you can wiggle yourself out of trouble… Bare in mind though that YOU MUST MAINTAIN MACHO AT ALL TIMES or she wins!

My breastfeeding journey: Building up breast milk supply

I did it! I finally did it! Ayden is fully on breastmilk now! I know, I know, it’s a bit late but late is better than never, right?  My breastfeeding journey isn’t a smooth one. With Ethan I was determined to breast feed him but because I was ill-prepared and lacking in knowledge, I failed miserably. I only managed to mix feed up to 3 months old and then I dried up :'( I regretted […]

Buying a school bag

It’s 11.12.13 and all over my Facebook newsfeed I see people saying how special it is. Honestly speaking, what’s so special about it? It is a state holiday though but I spent half of the day at home recuperating from vomiting that started the night before. In the midst of vomiting I can still joke with Darling saying I might be pregnant again. Ethan who was listening exclaimed, “NO!!!! Ayden alone is ENOUGH!!!” >_< Anyway, […]

Baby Float Neck Ring

One thing I’ve noticed about Ayden since born is that he loves bath time. He loves kicking his legs in the bath tub. I don’t know if the fact that I swam every week during pregnancy has an effect in his love for water or not but it is such a joy to bathe him as he will giggle and kick and splash water all over. We were out shopping for some swimwears a couple […]

Just a little unwell

It was Monday evening. We were all dressed up to the nines to attend One World’s Christmas buffet preview but before that we had to make a quick stop at Ethan’s drum school for his weekly lesson. On the way, in the car, he complained of tummy ache. It became unbearable that I called his teacher to cancel class and made a U-turn back home. We though of letting him rest for a while before […]

SJKC Primary One Orientation Week

Just as the year-end school holidays started a fortnight ago, Ethan had to go to his primary school for a two-week orientation. We paid for this actually, RM130 for 2 weeks (4 hours/day) inclusive of food. We asked Ethan earlier if he wants to join this orientation and excitedly he said YES so we signed him up on the day we confirmed his registration in this school. With Ayden keeping me occupied, I had not […]

Intoxicated Boobs

OK maybe it’s not intoxicated but someone seriously spiked my boobs today. Just thought of using a killer title to get your attention. You know, trying my luck in a social experiment >_< Ayden woke up at 8.36am this morning. How do I know? Coz it is written there on this picture taken using BabyAgeCam app. Wah so happy I see him in such a good mood smiling so broadly. Quickly load pic onto Facebook […]

Bumbo Floor Seat

When I had Ethan 6 years ago, we bought this Bumbo floor seat for him. The reason is because with this floor seat, I can finally have my hands to myself again. Ethan was not able to sit up by himself yet then but with this seat, he can. As soon as a baby can support his own head, they can be seated in this Bumbo floor seat.  Look at Ethan sitting like a boss […]

Golden Palm Tree Iconic Resort & Spa

It’s the year end and I am sure most of us have holiday plans all planned out waiting to be executed. With Ayden around we do not want to be travelling too far so we decided on a quick retreat about an hour away from home recently. Our choice of destination – Golden Palm Tree Iconic Resort & Spa, soon they’ll be known as AVANI Sepang GoldCoast Resort. A piece of heaven on Earth but […]

Nightmares from bedtime stories

Before the arrival of Ayden, Ethan and I always read to each other before going to bed. Ethan makes sure that we only read cute animal stories, nothing with one animal eating the other. He says he will get nightmare if we did. That boy… tsk tsk. Now with Ayden around, I no longer read to Ethan but Ethan will read to Ayden. The same rules apply, no scary stories before bedtime because if we […]

School holiday programme: Sushi bento making for kids

The school holidays is here and that means parents (mostly urban families) signing their kids up for various holiday programmes available to keep their kids occupied. As for us, we did not sign Ethan up for anything except this bento making workshop organised by BaoBei. Though he attended a similar workshop last year (read about it here) he is still keen to attend it this year as he enjoyed it a lot. Last year Darling […]

End of preschool

It’s finally the end. The end of preschool that is. 8 months of preschool experience for Ethan. I regretted not sending him to preschool earlier as he enjoys the company of friends so much that he is rather sad today is his last day there. Ethan has graduated from preschool and will be attending P1 in 1 1/2 month’s time. With his beloved teachers and friends.  The school even placed a graduation picture in a […]

Making a family holiday a success

Darling and I love travelling. Before Ethan came into our life, we traveled overseas at least once a year. With Ethan, we only traveled abroad when he touched 2. We learned then that travelling with a kid is totally different and a lot more tiring. We are lucky though that Ethan loves travelling as much as we do. He is able to sleep anywhere as long as we are around. Now I have Ayden. I […]

Strangers approaching your child

Hi all! We finally went for our first family vacation together since the arrival of Ayden 10 weeks ago. We are enjoying every minute of it and though they have free wifi here, I don’t even bother to update my blog as every minute is spent with the family (though I cheat every now and then to update my FB page with some memorable holiday pictures ^_^) However, what happened this morning is a cause […]

Travelling with baby in the car

You know how when you have a baby you tend to look at other people with babies too? We were at the car park in a shopping mall last weekend when I spotted several mothers coming out from the front passenger seat carrying their baby. That’s not quite safe isn’t it? The first thing we did when I was pregnant with Ethan years ago was to get a baby carrier that doubles as a car […]

Ethan’s public drum performance in Sunway Giza Mall

Ethan performed in Sunway Giza Mall last Friday and Saturday. He played two songs on the drum. Unlike previous performances where Ethan was given a mini drum set, this time he was given a bigger drum set. Can you spot him behind that big set? ^_^ There, my little drummer boy <3 The daddy managed to record one of his performance. You can watch it here: It’s exactly a year now since Ethan first started […]

How To Cut Baby’s Hair

Ayden was born with a lot of hair just like his korkor Ethan. And just like his big brother, we did not shave their hair off during their fullmoon celebration. For Ethan, we brought him to my hairdresser to get his very first hair cut and it was such a horrifying experience with him ‘eating’ much hair! That’s why with Ayden, I decided to cut his hair myself. Last week, while he was ‘milk drunk’ […]

Ayden @ 2 months old

Time flies. I’m 2 months old now and still a bit sleepy though I sleep a lot lesser these days. I go to bed at 9pm and wakes up at 7.30am together with kor kor Ethan. I have 2 to 3 night feeds in between. During the day I take short 20 min naps here n there and that drives Mommy crazy. She said she is unable to blog like that. I love to cry […]

Leaf art: Fox with a bushy tail

We were at the playground one evening when I recalled seeing a leaf art in one of the SJKC book recently. I quickly prompted Ethan to pick up some leaves home. Dried leaves of different shapes and sizes. Guided him to paste those leaves in place. Drew the eyes using liquid paper.  Add the eyeballs using a black marker.  Tah-dah! Can you guess what this is? A forklift! fox leaf.. Urm.. I mean a fox […]

Late for school

Ethan’s teacher always complains that he is always late for school. We rush and rush every morning to make sure he is early but he will still be late. Why? After all, it’s only kindy and brotherly love is way more important <3 Because of this also every morning I have to rush to pump […]

How To Lose Post Pregnancy Weight … Fast!

With Ethan I lost my post pregnancy weight quite quickly. I was 40kg before I got pregnant and just before delivery I was 55kg. Okay, maybe I did not lose those weight as fast as I thought I did. It was just that back then I wasn’t active in social media hence I did not need to meet people often so I can just hide in my shell until I get back my pre-pregnancy figure.  […]

Ethan’s Graduation Concert

Last Saturday was Ethan’s Kindergarten Graduation Concert.  Though the concert only starts at 10am, we went there earlier for him to prepare and change into his robes and costumes. Ethan was in the dressing room with his friends and teachers, preparing.. Suddenly I got teary eyed. At 6 years old, this is […]

Tommee Tippee ELECTRIC Breast Pump

Ayden is very lucky because shortly after he was born, he got his very first product sponsorship from Mothercare thanks to Nuffnang.  Ayden and the sponsored products from Mothercare: * Silver Cross Pop Stroller (RM899.00) * Tommee Tippee Electric Steam Sterilizer (RM399.00) * Tommee Tippee Electric Breast Pump (RM599.00) We’ve tried using all of the above 3 products and am loving them all. Baby Boys Do Not Wear Pink

My sisters have all daughters while I have all boys. That doesn’t stop me from making Ethan and Ayden wear their hand-me-down clothes though. Come on, babies outgrow their clothes so quickly that there is no point buying too many new ones for them. Ethan did not have any problem wearing his cousin sisters’ hand-me-downs but I did buy several new ones for him last time to wear when we go kai-kai lah. But this […]

Blood in Poo

We got a huge scare yesterday when during diaper change, I noticed blood in Ayden’s stool. I’ve never encounter this with Ethan so when it happens to Ayden it triggers a panic attack. Anything with blood will cause my heart to palpitate. The first thing I do was to call Darling that made him rush back home immediately. While waiting for Darling, I posted the above picture on a Mommy group in Facebook. Thank goodness […]

Ayden’s Fullmoon

Just a little over a month ago, Ayden popped into our world earlier than expected. It was all good though and for that we are thankful.  The 3 men in my life <3 On the 3rd day when I got discharged from the hospital, my mother came to stay with me for a month to help me out with my confinement needs and caring for Ayden. The Poo Story

You know when you have a baby boy, you tend to get ‘showered’ with his urine during diaper change time? You know what I do? I place a tissue on his penis so that each time he pee, he’ll wet the tissue instead of ‘shooting’ it at me. There, this way I know I won’t get ambushed each time I change his diaper :D Anyway, since we are talking about diaper change, here’s a comic […]

Baby and Pacifier

Ethan disliked pacifier when he was younger but gradually turned to it when his mouth started to ‘itch’ when he was about 2 months old. Ayden is similar and dislikes pacifier too but ended up crying for milk once too often just to suckle on something. We can’t keep feeding him milk just so he can suck so my Mom tried giving him the pacifier… Haha! It didn’t help… I guess no pacifier for the […]

Sometimes We Forget

Since the arrival of Ayden, I am reminded of everyday little things that we are so used to that we took them for granted. One such example is switching on the lights when the little one is sleeping. We are so used to turn on the lights in the middle of the night to check on Ethan (though he hates it when he was younger but got used to it as he grows older) that […]

Toe Print Caterpillar

15th September 2013 marked the first time my boys did art together. They did toe print caterpillar. Well, the big brother did most of the work but still.. :P Ethan painted a leaf. Baby’s sleep companion

Hello! Baby Ayden is 10 days old today. All he does is sleep, poop and drink milk so it is still quite tolerable for me ^_^ A check-up with my gynae yesterday revealed a borderline high-blood pressure on me so I’m advised to sleep more and blog (and FB) less :( Heeding my gynae’s advice, I’m going to try spending less time on the PC and rest more. Sunbath to treat jaundice

These days, it is very common to find newborns suffering from jaundice after birth. I was extremely happy when the paed gave clearance for us to go home 3 days after giving birth to my little one as he wasn’t showing any signs of jaundice. My unexpected Merdeka Baby!

Hello! I’ve been away unexpectedly as my baby decided to pop out 3 weeks earlier into this world. Eating With Your Fingers

I grew up eating my meals using my fingers. I don’t really like using fork and spoon. But all that changed during college as my mates all ate ‘poshly’ using fork and spoon so I don’t feel comfortable using my fingers in front of them. I was always self-conscious during college as I was the only ‘kampung girl’ among those town girls :( Eating with one’s hands is a technique that can be quite clean […]
