What to Look for When Buying School Shoes

It has been a challenging 2021. While the boys are getting used to studying online, I also noticed that they are beginning to get bored interacting through screens. Humans in general need social interactions. Being reduced to only interacting virtually may have affected their mental health where lack of personal interaction is a concern.

At such, both my boys welcome recommencing of physical school with joy. While I still have mixed feelings sending them back to school, they are practically begging me to let them attend.

They already have everything they needed to get back to school except school shoes and uniforms. I remember buying them new school shoes and uniform earlier this year but because they have been studying online at home, I let them wear their shoes for recreational purposes before they outgrow those shoes.

These Pallas Jazz black shoes are light and airy with good ventilation hence they are comfy to wear outdoors. Can you spot Ethan and Ayden’s Pallas school shoes? They look good, don’t they?

For his school shoes, Ethan requested for black shoes with shoelace so he can wear it to Scout’s meetings too.

This Pallas Jazz Lo Cut Shoe Lace shoes is perfect for school and Scouts activities with its canvas lining for excellent breathability and extra comfort.

It has a padded collar and footbed for supreme fit and shock absorption.

Rubber outsole for excellent grip.

Comfort is key. Poorly-fitted shoes can actually hinder a child’s normal growth and comfort. It is recommended to get lightweight and flexible shoes that ensures better growing feet.

Ayden has been wearing Pallas Jazz since preschool. It’s important to get shoes with good fitting and comfortable. Look for that magical combination of durability and comfort. Extra features like lightweight, breathability and waterproof materials can help with the longevity of a school shoe, but comfort is arguably the most important factor of all and this is exactly the reason we stick to Pallas shoes throughout the years.

Both Ethan and Ayden’s Pallas shoes come with Arch Support. This is the most important factor as Ethan has flat foot. The arch support also provides relief to tired muscles hence it is comfortable to wear for long hours and this is the exact reason why I got it for Ayden too; doesn’t matter if you have flat feet or not.

Another important factor to look for when buying shoes is the ventilation system. We need to understand that school children will be wearing shoes for at least 5 hours a day. Shoes with good ventilation keeps the feet cooler, drier, reduce discomfort and (urgh!) smelly feet.

Soles should not be too stiff or too soft. For shoes to support our feet properly, they need cushioning that soften the blow to our feet with each step and arch support that hugs our natural footprint and prevent injury and strain to the muscles, bones, ligaments, and tendons in our feet. I got for Ayden shoes with Rebounce Insole by Pallas because you know, that boy is a little firecracker; can’t stay still and is jumping all the time. The rebounce insole helps absorb impact as well as gives better rebound. He’s like a walking coil spring while wearing that shoe. Haha!

School shoe soles should be sturdy and thick enough to protect our child’s feet from pain and injury. But they should also be flexible enough to bend with the foot.

I bought the boys’ shoes online as I am still reluctant to bring them to the mall or any air-conditioned indoor places.

It is extremely convenient to purchase shoes online these days especially from Pallas as they have this dedicated online measuring tool to measure your child’s feet. We don’t have to go in-store to try on shoes anymore now. It’s advisable to get our child’s feet measured before we shop for shoes or risk miscalculating and ending up with a pair of shoes that start pinching before the term is even over. Make sure to measure BOTH feet.

I checked my boys’ feet with this online feet measuring tool and proceeded to purchase them online from www.wow2wee.com. We get almost everything done online these days especially when we are entitled for Free Shipping.

You can now conveniently purchase Pallas school shoes without leaving home from these online platforms:

2) Pallas Official Store at Shopee
3) Pallas Flagship Store at Lazada

Or if you still prefer the old school way of shopping, you can get them here:
