Homemade Granola Energy Bar
It is now confirmed that the boys will be studying from home until the end of the academic year in December. While Ayden will be back to school in January next year, Ethan will only go back in March.
This only means one thing – I need to make more snacks for them. The boys can’t stop munching when they are at home. Not only them, I can’t stop snacking too. I guess munching something helps to kill time and boredom.
I made Granola Energy Bars for the boys a couple of days ago. They love granola bars but I find those commercially sold ones a tad too sweet and also very expensive. I like to make our own as we can adjust the sweetness level and add our favourite ingredients into it.
Ingredients for my homemade Granola bars – Rolled oats, almond, peanuts, desiccated coconut, dried cranberries, dark chocolate, honey and vegetable oil
It’s very easy to make this granola bars. I just toast all the dry ingredients in the oven and then mix with oil and honey. Once they are nicely coated, I press them in a baking pan and bake in the oven for 10 minutes. Cut, leave to cool, refrigerate for a couple of hours and they are ready to be eaten.
This is currently our favourite snack at home. The boys will just grab one or two bars before running to the playground every evening.
Here’s the tutorial video on how to make this super easy granola oat bars.

Good that Ethan and Ayden got a super mama like you. They are growing boys so eating these high energy bars will give them energy!
I always buy granola or muesli bars as they are easy to eat esp when I went overseas. I will keep them in my pocket. I agree that some brands are too sweet and all are expensive to me!
I should learn to make them.
