Ethan is 12!

Time flies. My first born turned 12 yesterday. I remember his every birthdays like it was just yesterday.

12 years with him yet I still can’t get it right at times. Parenting is hard. I never know if the decision we make is correct or not yet we still have to do it. It is a journey of trials and errors but I am glad together, we are usually able to overcome the obstacles blocking our way.

He has been a fairly good child. He is very independent when it comes to his studies and for that I am extremely thankful.

Emotionally, he is quite reserved. I wish he can be more expressive sometimes but I guess that’s just how he is.

He’ll be a teenager next year. I pray that I’ll be given the patience and strength to deal with teenage angst.

Dear Ethan,

Thank you for giving me the chance to be a mother; to be your mother. Our first born, you are the first to melt our hearts and fill our home with joy. I never understood my parent’s pride, joy and worries until I got you. I hope you’ll grow well and be someone you can take pride in. Mummy and Daddy love you, very much.

Yes, teenager next year, very soon, will have girlfriend already lor, no time for mummy dear lor! LOL!!! Happy birthday, Ethan! Aiyor…that Ayden in the baby chair so cute!!!

He has grown up well and handsome with all your good parenting.

I know it is not easy but you have been a very smart mother. Most of my wife’s relatives are struggling with their kids’ bad behaviours and poor grades at school. Should send the parents to learn from you.
