How to Peel a Hard Boiled Egg

The boys and I love to eat eggs. I love half boiled eggs but they prefer hard boiled ones. The thing about hard boiled eggs is we need to peel the shell before we can eat them unlike half boiled eggs where I can just crack the top open to eat it. Luckily for me, I’ve never had trouble peeling the shell of hard boiled eggs though some of the people I know can’t freaking do it.

Oh another thing, I also make sure my hard boiled eggs don’t have blue rings over its yolk so what I do is to quickly remove the eggs from the hot boiling water and dip them immediately in cold water. Once the eggs are cool to touch, I’ll crack the shells by gently tapping it on a hard surface (usually the pot). Then I’ll roll the egg in my palm to loosen the shell and finally peel it under running tap water.

Easy peasy.

I taught the boys to do the same and they have been peeling their own hard boiled eggs for years now. It makes life so much easier for me. Haha.

Always, I repeat ALWAYS teach the kids the way around the kitchen and the house. Teach them to do things themselves so that we do not need pick up after them. We are their parents, not their maid.

I also do that. That is how I peel eggs.

      Hi five!

What’s that green ring on his index finger? Love the “sound effects” in the video clip.

Oh? So that is why some egg yolks are kind of blue on the outside? I thought that was because they have been cooked a long while ago.

That green ring is his ring. Ayden and I played jewellery the night before and he made me a ring that looks exactly like his green ring but mine is pink. He made me wear it for the second day today. He wore his ring to school too. Lol.

Yes, egg yolk will ‘bruise’ if left in hot water after boiling.

Bahahaha he is so adorable ler. :) Peel one for me too.

      Can. No problem :D

It also depends on the freshness of the eggs. If the eggs are very fresh, the shells tend to stick to the eggs.

I agree with you on this

I don’t have problem peeling the egg shell until recently I air fried my egg instead of boiling it, the shell tend to stick on the egg, very difficult to peel it nicely >_<

Hahahaha. Why would you air fry your eggs instead of boiling?
