Kids Friendly Cafe: Upperhouse Kitchen & Dessert Bar @ Telawi, Bangsar
We recently found a children friendly cafe in Bangsar. As we enter the premise, the area on our left is set-up specially for families with children while on our right is a chick and instagrammable area for youngsters or couples or anyone without kids.
I shall focus on the family area as we were seated here throughout our dinner last Saturday but before that, do watch this video of the comfortable family area and delectable food at Upperhouse Kitchen and Dessert Bar, Bangsar:

A special Kids Corner to keep children occupied in between meal time.
Our little explorer got busy the moment he stepped into this cafe.
Ayden fell in love with this teepee tent immediately and made it his own.
It also has a Baby Changing Station and I heard they are going to set up a Breastfeeding Corner soon too. How cool is that? Yes, lactating mothers need time off to chill in cafes too sometimes so thank you!
A hidden gem somewhere in Jalan Telawi 3 Bangsar, Upperhouse Kitchen and Dessert Bar serves from Kids Meal to Main Course for adults as well as delectable desserts for the entire family. Totally recommended for a comfortable dining experience for the entire family ❤️
KIDS MENU
Little Ayden loves places with Kids’ Menu.
Their French Toast is so beautifully plated with lots of freshly cut fruits topped with double scoop butter. Ayden shared the toast with big brother Ethan but single-handedly cleared the fruits on the plate.
The boys also shared Upperhouse’s champion BIG BREAKFAST of omelette, toasts, sausages and sauteed cherry tomatoes.

KOMBUCHA TEA
I got myself a bottle of Kombucha Green Tea (RM10)
Probiotic rich Kombucha is fermented tea with many health benefits. It’s known as a living tea as it is filled with healthy bacteria.
It contains antioxidants and helps fight diseases. Kombucha made from green tea amplify the benefit of the plant compound.
Kombucha tea doesn’t taste like brewed tea. It has a sour and refreshing taste making this the ideal drink to accompany a hearty meal.
Upperhouse makes their own Kombucha tea. They have Green and Black Kombucha tea. Black Kombucha tea has a stronger taste while Green Kombucha tea is lighter.
I bought an extra bottle home as I simply love their Kombucha tea.
A plus point for this cafe is it uses metal straws. No plastic straws can be seen here. Way to go!
The children’s freshly squeezed orange juice is served without a straw. We can request for one if needed but we did not as the boys are old enough to drink without straws.
MAIN COURSE
At Upperhouse, they have the old school paper menu as well as ultra modern menu on the iPad with delicious graphics.
HONEY FRIED CHICKEN (RM22)
A huge serving of golden brown buttermilk chicken with sweet honey syrup glaze. Good for sharing.
SALTED EGG YOLK WITH KING PRAWN CARBONARA (RM25)
This is the cafe’s all-time best seller. Simplicity at its best, I love how the salted egg yolk sauce is made the star of this dish without being overpowered by cheese like how others usually do it.
MUSHROOM AGLIO OLIO (RM20)
An assortment of shitake, enoki and button mushroom tempura with chili flakes makes a simple but incredibly tasty and fulfilling meal.
HAM & CHEESE SANDWICH (RM28)
Layers of housemade brioche, ham and mozarella with delicious bechamel sauce.
DELECTABLE DESSERTS
FLAMING BOMBE ALASKA (RM18)
Serves with flaming rum, this vanilla sponge with ice cream dessert gives a romantic ending to a wholesome meal.
BLACK FOREST (RM21)
We totally lost ourselves indulging in this fascinating forest made of yummy chocolate soil, raspberry basil ice cream, lime panna cotta, lemon basil sponge, Tim Tam (black forest flavour), jasmine mousse, golden rice puff and rhubarb compote.
UPPERHOUSE KITCHEN AND DESSERT BAR 2nd ANNIVERSARY SPECIAL
In conjunction with Upperhouse’s 2nd Anniversary on the 23 and 24 March 2019, these very fun EDIBLE CANDY BALLOONS which guarantees a hilariously good time as you hear your voice changing into high pitched chipmunks will be made available for diners at just RM18 with black coffee.

Gee!!! I can’t remember the last time I had a Bombe Alaska. Probably 1981 in Auckland, New Zealand – so sweet, I did not like it.
I like that they have such space to cater to different group of customers.
I would like to try the dessert.
Honestly more cafes need to emulate them. We need more kids friendly places to let kids have fun and enjoy. :)
I don’t have kids but my girlfriends who do are always appreciative of places that cater to families with young children.
Wow, for the two special days, this eatery would be packed with customers!
This place is fabulous for whole family with great food.
Seeing Ayden inside the tent, warms my heart.
I used to build tents with blankets and bed sheets at home when I was a little kid. My brother and I always played cowboy and red indians.
