Ayden likes to draw
The other day Ayden saw this on our limau purut plant. I took disposable chopsticks to pick it away and throw in the bin but before I can do that, Ayden told me to take a picture of it to send to the Daddy. He always send random pictures to the father via Whatsapp.
It’s a caterpillar right?
The boys asked me why is this caterpillar without bulu. I don’t know how to answer them
Then during dinner, all of a sudden Ayden drew this:
I asked him why he drew a worm. He said it is not a worm but the caterpillar we saw earlier. Such a cute and smiley caterpillar he drew from memory.
Ayden has recently found a new interest. He has this sudden fascination to draw. He brings his note book every where he goes and draws anything that catches his attention.
For example this glass of barley:
Look at him draw:
He also drew himself enjoying a giant glass of barley
He told me that is him in the picture. I am happy to see him drawing a very happy version of himself.
There was once Ayden drew a very sad, crying picture of himself. It is so sad that I instantly felt so down looking at it. He drew that because I reprimanded him earlier for fighting with big brother Ethan
I like children who draw as we can actually see their world through their drawings. The elder brother Ethan is not so much into drawing. In fact he is not very good at drawing so it is quite tricky to read his mind but he expresses himself more through music. I can actually read his mood according to the songs or frequency he plays.
Anyway, here are two more pictures before I end this post:
A 3-speed blade-less fan on a super hot day earlier today.
A very happy Ayden with his future car
Ah he has more than one career choice now – chef or artist! Both are creative lines.
Good. It is good for young children to draw as a way to express their feeling. I also let my boy to doodle and draw.
Wow! Ayden’s future car. I want to sit in one too.
That’s sweet that he sends pics to daddy.
This post warms my heart so much. My late mother taught me to draw simple greeting cards when I was barely 4 years old and she sent my birthday cards to many aunties as my paternal grandfather had 3 wives & 21 children with 58 grandchildren. My old aunties still keep my birthday cards till now!! Later my mum encouraged me to take Art subject in my SPM & it gave me an “A” which helped my grading! Later she sent me to study advertising in US as she knew I would do well and I did in business advertising instead. I am still good at drawing & paintings but surprisingly it is not really my interest to draw. Later I tried to explain to others that being able to cook very well does not mean that one has to open a restaurant, right? I could attest that drawing and creativity is very important to balance a human’s right & left brain and helps us to express very well. I think Ayden would even make a good actor someday!
