October Japanese Cuisine, Johor Bahru

It’s the festive season and almost everyone I know is busy holidaying somewhere.

We just got back from a great getaway too. We went to this place where cherry blossoms is in full bloom.

It’s so beautiful that we can’t resist but to take a family picture under the alluring sakura arch.

Bright cherry blossoms and the rustle of bamboo give such a serene ambiance to this location.

I believe I could have tricked a handful of you if I say we were in Japan but the truth is, we were much closer to home. We did not even leave the country. All we did was to take a road trip to Johor to this zen place called “October Japanese Cuisine”.

October Japanese Cuisine is a modern Japanese theme house that serves contemporary Japanese cuisine.

It has plenty of parking space at the back of the restaurant.

6a, Jalan Persiaran Jaya Putra 1

They have already launched their 2018 Chinese New Year specialties; 3 types of specially crafted dishes for the upcoming festive season.

Prosperity Yee Sang – Assorted Sashimi with Wasabi sauce

This yee sang consists of 3 varieties of deep water fish sashimiNorwegian Salmon, Maguro (Tuna) and Hamachi (Yellow Tail) as its highlight among other condiments. Fried Gyoza skin and Roasted Almond flakes add an interesting crunch to the texture of this yee sang.

Two choices of sauces are available for this yee sang – Wasabi Sauce and the classic Sour Plum Sauce.

We decided to get adventurous and tried the Wasabi sauce for our yee sang and it was worth every drop of this refreshing herbal sauce.

The marinated trio – Marinated Scallop (Chuka Hotate)Marinated Jellyfish (Chuka Kurage) and Marinated Seaweed (Wakame) compliments this raw fish salad perfectly.

Mix the ingredients together and toss them high while calling out loud, “Loh Hey” which literally means “move upwards”; symbolic of rising our fortunes in the year to come.

Prosperity Yee Sang with Assorted Sashimi in Wasabi Sauce is priced at RM108nett (large) and RM68nett (regular).

Early Bird Yee Sang Voucher promo is happening from 1 December till 31 December 2017. It entitles the voucher holder to purchase the LARGE yee sang at RM88.00 nett only. Not only that, voucher holders will also receive FREE exclusive October Group Ang Pow and one plate of sanma fish.

Ayden has 7 babies. Pikachu is one of them. He rotates among these 7 babies when he goes out. Each of them has their own names and he’ll get upset if we get them wrong. Haha.

I love the family photo too. The flower arch is simply beautiful. Every corner of this restaurant is worth a picture. I love it here. So serene, so peaceful.
