Our Mother’s Day Celebration

For the third year now we celebrated Mother’s Day at Eastin Hotel Kuala Lumpur.

Located less than 30 minutes drive from our house, it is one of our favourite hotels in town. At RM88nett per adult with children paying half the adults’ price, their Brunch Buffet featuring both local and international buffet spread is also one of the more affordable deals around.

What I love about Eastin Hotel is they never fail to arrange interesting activities for diners to participate during their Mother’s Day Brunch. For the past two years, Eastin Hotel held Young Chef competition in conjunction with Mother’s Day.

This year, mothers who dine in for the Mother’s Day Brunch were given the opportunity to participate in the Cake Decorating Contest.

I quickly volunteered to participate when they announced for 16 mothers to take up the challenge.

We were given a white cake to decorate using items and ingredients provided.

It was my first time handling fondant as I have never decorated a cake in my entire life and that (pic above) was what I managed to whip out in 30 minutes.

I was faced with stiff competition as other mothers did a marvelous job too at decorating their cakes hence I was surprised when my name was called as the 1st Prize winner of this Cake Decorating contest. 

I won a 2D/1N stay at Eastin Hotel Kuala Lumpur and Cash Vouchers worth RM200 nettt to spend at any outlet in the hotel 

Eastin Hotel not only arranged activities for moms, they also organised games for the children. 

Ethan participated in Candy Rush game and came out first to transfer all jellybeans and marshmallow from his plate to the bowl behind him. 

He won a Weekend Buffet Hi Tea for (1) Person at Swez Brasserie, Eastin Hotel Kuala Lumpur. 

The Dads were not forgotten as there was a cute and entertaining game organised for them called “Sumo Wrestling”.

Participants were given an extra large tee to wear. They were then given 3 balloons each. There are 2 rounds in this game. The first round, participants who burst all balloons in their tee first wins. For the second round, participants need to burst opponent’s balloons and it was extremely hilarious watching them in action. 

I laughed till my eyes teared watching Darling in action. He eventually won this game and brought home a Weekend Buffet Hi Tea for (2) Persons at Swez Brasserie 

We won big this year. Luck was on our side.

Besides all those awesomeness, Mother’s Day is not done yet here at Eastin Hotel Kuala Lumpur as a complimentary cooking class is made available on the 20th and 27th May from 11am to 1pm for all Mothers who dine in for today’s Mother’s Day Brunch. Wow! Am so looking forward to that!

After all the excitement, we continued eating. 

Food as usual was great. 

The buffet spread consists of local and international cuisine. 

The Peking Duck counter was a big hit today. We had to queue for this freshly prepared dish as everyone made a beeline for it. 

The chicken and beef satay is also a hit with both the young and older folks. 

Japanese maki also flew off the plate very quickly today but luckily the kitchen staffs are quick to replenish food as there were about 300 diners here today. 

I love sandwiches especially during brunch. Yums!

The reason my kids went hyper! 

Well done Eastin for another successful brunch event. Food was good, ambiance was great but the company I had today was the best! I had not only my family with me but two of my girlfriends and their family too. Together, we all had a wonderful Mother’s Day.

I wish for nothing else when I have these two by my side ♥
