Cook with Ethan: Bendi Goreng Bawang Belacan
After all the cooking videos I did for Ayden, I think it is only fair to have one for Ethan too.
That boy has been so occupied with school, homework, co-coriculum and more that I hardly have time to speak to him on weekdays
Just a blink of an eye, Ethan is already 9 going to be 10 this year. He is growing up fast before my very eyes so I better take more pictures and videos of him before he leaves home for college or something
Will he allow me to record him cook is another question
But luck is on my side as that boy happily agrees to let me record him cook one of our favourite dish -> Stir-fried Ladies Finger with Shrimp Paste
Bendi Bawang Belacan
The ingredients needed are:
Okra (Ladies Fingers)
Red Chili
Shallots
Shrimp Paste
Cooking Tip:
I covered the mortar with plastic leaving a hole just enough for the pestle to go through so that the chili and shallots don’t get into his eyes when he pounds the ingredients.

Great for boys to learn to cook young.It will save them a bundle when they get to Uni overseas etc.
By the time I was 10, i would cook breakfast for my family of 7 in Mumbai. made the fluffiest of omelettes
Both your boys can eat chili? For lady finger I only steam then put shallot oil :P
