Double Happiness Kitchen @ Kota Damansara

My pretty friend Queenie (whom I got to know years ago through blogging) opened a restaurant in Kota Damansara about 3 months ago. Last Saturday, we took the opportunity to visit her and try out the food there.

Double Happiness Kitchen
No 22A, Jalan Teknologi 3/6D,
Taman Sains Selangor 1,
Seksyen 3,
Kota Damansara

012-980 6286

The interior is divided into two section; air-conditioned and open space (I presumed for smokers). Decor is kept to the minimum to give the place a clean and spacious feel.

The food range is categories under rice, noodles, western, yong tau fu and others that made up of side dishes, breakfast and waffles.

I ordered Wheatgrass Lemon to share with Darling while Ethan had the Honey Lemon drink. Both the drinks are priced at RM2.60 each.

We ordered a bottle of the cold pressed juice (RM8.30) for Ayden since he was not feeling too good that day. The juice of the day was Beetroot + Pineapple.

I love cold pressed juice. 100% juice with no water, sugar or ice added just the way we do it at home. This is the first time I tried beetroot and pineapple combo and I must say that it is super refreshing.

Ethan ordered chicken chop with fries (RM10.90)

Fried till golden brown on each side, the meat is still very tender inside.

The chicken is one of their best seller item. You can have it western style or with rice lemon/thai sauce, cheese baked etc ☺️

Ethan had it with mushroom sauce. They are generous with the mushrooms in the sauce.

Oops. Kindly ignore the single okra on Ethan’s plate. That one escaped from my yong tau fu onto his plate emo29-1

Darling ordered the Kimchi Udon (RM8.90)

Kimchi udon always makes an appetising dish as it is sourish and the one here is sweet and sour. I would love it more if it is spicy too but since it is not, it qualifies as a kid-friendly dish :)

Since Ayden is under the weather, we ordered this healthy Fishball Noodle Soup in chicken and radish broth for him (RM6.50)

This boy of mine can survive with just noodle and fishballs.

According to Queenie, the food here are all cooked without MSG so parents need not worry to bring their kids. I would recommend this fishball noodle soup if you are bringing your children here.

As for me, I had their yong tau fu

Their yong tau fu is made upon order using 100% fish paste.

I tried the sui kow.

And chili and okra stuffed with fish paste for the soup version.

As for the fried version, I had these:

I prefer the soup version as the fried ones can be a little oily but that is just me as I have low tolerance towards oily food. I love the soup. So nice to drink it while it is hot and the chili stuffed with fish paste is the bomb, as in really EXPLOSIVE! The chili used is really spicy so it suits me really well. I like!

For dessert, the boys had this waffle with ice-cream (RM5.90)

This Ayden, tsk tsk, under the weather but still eating ice-cream >_<

The boys just can’t resist to have this colourful dessert :D

Overall I think this place serves simple, no frills, homely and healthy dishes with reasonable prices. They do serve tong sui too but I did not try them that day. Will definitely return for that.

The chicken chop looked so yummy. My kids would fight for the waffle ice cream.

Double Happiness. There is one cafe in Kuching with such name. Blogged about it last month.

Queenie’s Double Happiness Kitchen signboard is so cute. From afar I thought it looks like some wedding shop. Haha.

Have not find the right time to go there yet..I am actually looking forward for the cold pressed juice and is so much affordable.

    • //

Yes, the cold pressed juice is nice and reasonably priced too.

  • //

I can’t resist a good piece of fried chicken :P
The waffle is a bit pale, maybe longer baking time can make it looks nicer~

    • //

I thought the waffle is a bit pale too but the boys polished it off nevertheless.

The portion tipu one, must be nepotism at work. If not then really good value for money, especially that chicken chop. :P

    • //

I specifically told her to serve us the exact portion as what she’ll be serving her customers as I’ll be blogging about it. So I’m sure it’s not tipu wan lah.

Food looks good. Guess this is a place where people can bring their whole family to eat at, again and again.
