Skewers, SS2 : Cheesy Pork Ribs and MORE!
I am on the roll for pork hunt. I realised lately that pork isn’t too bad at all. This is coming from me; a fish or chicken person. These days, I jump at every opportunity for a porky feast. I don’t know what has gotten into me but my latest pork cravings sent me to Skewers, located on the same row as SS2 Murni restaurant.
Skewers
9, Jalan SS 2/75, SS 2, 47300 Petaling Jaya, Selangor.
Skewers pride themself as a BBQ restaurant and a beer garden. It is a nice hangout place to eat, drink and be merry. I don’t drink so I’ll just be myself – Merryn :P
The first feature that caught my eyes as soon as I entered the restaurant are their hanging pots of real plants on both sides of their walls. My heart has a soft spot for places with greens so this definitely earns them some brownie points.
Diners can also opt to sit outside on their high stool.
Let’s cut the chase. Skewers are famous for their CHEESY PORK RIBS. Actually cheesy pork ribs are the latest food craze on FB. Have you seen that video tutorial of making your own cheesy pork ribs? That video has gone viral and many mommies have been sharing their version of cheesy pork ribs after watching that video. Unfortunately I have yet to try making my own cheesy pork ribs but on a happier note, I will get to try it today! :D
Cheesy Pork Ribs (RM49.90)
Served bubbling hot, this is best eaten warm.
A tug-of-war ensued to see who can pull the cheese the longest :D
Can I declare myself as the winner? I think I pulled the cheese the highest that day. Haha.
The heat from the bottom of the pan keeps the cheese warm and bubbly. I then twirled it around the pork rib and eat. It is like eating pork pizza without the dough! Cheese lovers will definitely love this.
If you are not a fan of cheese, then this grilled bbq pork rib rack is made specially for you.
Grilled BBQ Pork Rib Rack (RM39.90)
A good grilled bbq pork rib should be tender but still has some bite to it. The ones here gave us just that. It gives us the pleasurable tussle of biting the meat off the bones to enjoy this to the fullest.
A serving of the bbq pork rib rack is enough to go around my entire family of four.
Yup, definitely eating like a carnivore here.
If those ribs are too heavy for you as you are looking for some bites to just chill with your drinks, then they have plentiful varieties of skewers to offer. They are not called Skewers for nothing :P
We managed to try the above: Bacon wrapped enoki mushroom, pork belly, pork slice and eggplant.
RM12.90 LUNCH SET!
Besides the porky meals above, what is also worth mentioning is their LUNCH SET.
Their lunch set is really value for money as RM12.90 will get you a wholesome meal plus free iced lemon tea.
Complimentary Iced Lemon Tea to cool you down on these super hot days.
One of the items offered in their lunch set is PORK CHOP. Boneless grilled pork chop with just the right herb and flavour, this is easily the crowds favourite.
The boys picked FISH & CHIPS and enjoyed it a lot.
I enjoyed their Seafood Aglio Olio more though.
Seafood Aglio Olio – simple yet nice.
Darling preferred the Bacon & Pork Bolognese and the boys agree with him. Those 3 shared a plate of that and left with a big grin of satisfaction.
Ayden is well fed and satisfied.
Service was quick and food is good. I’d recommend their glorious pork ribs and also their lunch sets. Am saying again how worth it their lunch set is especially if you order their pork chop. Yums!
Skewers is open from 12pm – 12am Tuesday- Sunday and closed on Mondays.
Wah, really very cheesy lah! Set lunch price is ok too. I think I will go for the fish and chips, hahaha.
Chop!!! You must take me here when I hop over to KL!!! Slurpssss!!!!
Wah .. So much pork meat there and so much cheese!! Looks delicious and good ! Errr… Did you run after that ? Hehehhe
The cheesy pork rib is a winner here!! Looks good.
I am a fish and chicken person too and I seldom cook pork at home. Funny thing is when I go out makan, I would usually order pork dishes. Lol.
Wow! So much cheese!! I want the pork chop!
The most sinful combination kan? Cheese + grilled pork ribs!
the cheese looks good lah!
I’ve been reading a lot about Skewers lately, have yet to pop over myself. It’s quite close to where I usually go to so will head over one day. The RM 12.90 lunch is very competitive and you can’t beat cheese + ribs. :)
