Celebrating Mummy’s Birthday @ THE SQUARE, Novotel Melaka

We were in Melaka two weeks ago for an early celebration of my mother’s birthday as I know I won’t be able to go back to be with her on her actual birthday which is today, 20 March.

We went for hi-tea at The Square, Novotel Melaka.

There are indoor and outdoor seating to suit your preference.

It is breezy and nice outside but the boys chose to sit inside.

The first thing that caught my eyes is the dessert counter filled with a mix of traditional kuihs and modern cakes.

Ethan was already feeling a little under the weather then so I got him this delicious and healthy fish soup.

I enjoyed this spicy and slightly sweet curry-like gravy mee rebus very much.

My mom had their ulam and kerabu but she did not really like the kerabu. She said it was lacking in taste and is quite bland.

Fruit rojak was nice and satisfying.

As usual, the boys will have pasta from the pasta station.

Different types of pasta available at the live station.

Novotel cappucino

My father and his cup of cappuccino from the coffee machine.

We also ordered fruit juice from the ala carte menu.

Ayden shared his glass of watermelon juice with the Grandpa.

Happy Birthday Mummy!

Do you notice that they are both holding onto their phones? LoL. That is because the free wifi connection here at Novotel Melaka is superb! Wireless high flow internet access is available at every corner of the hotel and each room has its own booster. I am very happy with their internet speed :D

Overall, the food spread is quite limited for hi-tea. There is no ice-cream for the kids though they do have ais kacang and cendol.

The Square Hi-Tea is on every Sunday from 12noon – 4pm. Priced at RM45/person, kids below 12 years old eat for free (with every paying adult).

Hmm… I never been to a hotel hi-tea before. Looks like buffet but with less choices huh…

    Happy Birthday to you mom!

Happy Birthday to your mother! I miss going to hotel’s hi-tea. Used to do that a lot when I was younger.

I was about to say the food is presented so good but it doesn’t look like it was served and from what you wrote it seemed like a buffet so it was you who made the plates look so good. Nice one! I would have just slopped the food on one plate. Haha.

Happy birthday to your mom, Merryn! :)
